she hears these voices in her head.
telling her she should be dead.
she listens and believes it all
she lets them push her down
she lets em’ make her fall.
she smiles and she doesn’t frown.
she acts like nothings got her down.
but I know.
I know.
the truth.
The hate comes in stampedes
and tramples on her heart.
she just wants to make it through
she just wants to somehow survive.
she shines all the light shes got.
tries to overcome the dark.
but she can’t seem to beat it.
no she can’t seem to free herself.
And she acts like nothings going wrong.
but I know.
Oh, I know.
the truth.
The clouds roll in
and the rain is falling
and the lightning strikes
and the thunder is rolling
and this strong young woman
is suddenly weak.
she can’t find her words
she can’t seem to speak.
she picks up her keys
and drives her car far.
she tries to get her sanity.
put it seems like shes too far gone.
she drives to city
and up to a building
and cries.
cries for the last time…
she walks up the staircase.
for God knows how long.
all the while
singing her sad songs.
she’s building her courage.
just making sure.
and the next fatal seconds
come out in a blur.
and she’s staing on the roof.
and she’s singing the blues.
as she steps on the ledge.
and she says…
i’m done goodbye’ing
I’m done with cry’ing.
I’m just here to start fly’ing.
my dream is die’ing.
I’m finally shin’ing.
And she swears she’ll actually fall this time.
But I know!
Oh, I know!
I won’t…
