We had it pretty good for a while, didn’t we? Remember the way we felt that night at the hotel? Redd was downstairs at the bar wearing his gold trenchcoat, that dork, pretending to act incognito. And upstairs they gave us free shots of blue stuff while a tv played in the corner old reruns of Josie & the Pussycats. It was so crowded we couldn’t move, but this was long before we became agoraphobic, so we didn’t mind. Top o’ the world, Ma. Top o’ the world.
And H said, “Redd is amazing. How does anyone remember all that stuff?”
And we laughed.
And H said, “I guess your part is easy because there’s so much going on, nobody would ever notice if you screwed up.”
And we laughed even harder because that was so NOT true.
Another round of blue shots? Sure, set em up, we’ll be right back.
And we ducked down the stairs, out into the alley, past the happy people, past the sound & fury to a quiet spot where we could look up and see the stars on that perfectly clear night. And we said to ourselves, no matter how it turns out, don’t ever forget that we had it pretty good for a while.

It actually made sense; I felt like somehow it connected a tiny bit to my current situation.
And usually nothing makes sense, Cyanure.
But it’s okay I guess, sometimes is just hard to accept it.
Yes. One must always enjoy the moment. Appreciate what one has while one has it. *sigh*
