By hipstercrites, I mean these leftists “democrats are the good guys,” people (I’m neither liberal or conservative, because I am an adult, I outgrew the high school labeling system long ago), they wanna trash other hipsters and pretend theyr not a hipster, yet, they’ve just got to follow all the popular “enlightened” trends. They worship science, are dogmatic in their perception of facts, they trash religion while sucking up to a president who follows religion (go figure, because theyr so die hard against religion, right?), they go on and on about evolution, a belief which outlines the dark side of human nature, “might makes right” and brutal hierarchy having helped us to adapt and survive the elements, yet, apparently, this same process doesn’t apply to government? Or is it that we just need to now down to them because they are evolutionarily better than us, and hence, have the right to kill, enslave, and oppress us? As long as the’re democraps, right?
I just can’t stand these idiots. They’re the biggest fucking hypocrites in the world, and they’re too drunk on their own kool-aid to see themselves for what they are…. The mere fact that they insists on pretending scientific knowledge is the only type of knowledge that counts for anything, is dogmatic in and of itself. They obviously know nothing of history. Truth be told, they usually don’t understand science as well as they try to look like they do, nobody really can. It’s the same shit Christians did when they rose as the popular religion in the beginning of THEIR Age, they use sophist language nobody but the upper priesthood can really understand, to deceive themselves via their own pack-mentality egos. Hell, Christians even argued at one time, thousands of yrs ago, “it’s the best answer we have now,” (so that automatically makes it right, because, at the present, they haven’t discovered a better answer?).
Science is just a more modernized religion for today’s Age, religion is a mind control tool, and the controllers knew people in this Age would see beyond mythologies, so they gave them something more up-to-date with the times. We call this “science.” Science and religion are merely 2 opposite sides of the same fucking coin. Ideological tools of oppression. All one needs do to see science is just as corruptible as any other religion, look at Nazi Germany… I’m pretty damn sure they had “scientific evidence” behind their master race theories. I mean correct me if I am wrong here… They probably had “peer reviews” too. Look at the USSR, an atheist empire which merely turned the state into the new religion. Same as these hipsters in America today are doing, they promote big government as the solution, rather than the problem. Rather someone chooses to worship authority directly through government and academia, or through some fairy tell mythology, either way worshiping authority is worshiping authority. But, but, they’re “intellectual rebels,” because we know real rebels worship authority.
But, they’re so “individualistic,” that’s why they need to fall into the popular “enlightened” beliefs on everything, right? And anyone who dares to question their brand of kool-aid MUST be some republican Christian fundamentalist, right? God these types annoy the fuck out of me….

that being said, if someone chooses to believe in religion, or science, or w/e, hey, that’s fine, I’m not telling anyone what to believe or not to believe. I’ll give you my take on it, i’ve spent my life investigating these things. But I’m not forcing anything on anyone. I don’t mind people believing in w/e they wanna believe, as long as they’re not smug assholes about it.
Your premise is flawed. The word “religion” doesn’t necessarily mean “belief in the supernatural.” It just means something you care to do often and regularly.
Science will be the first to tell you it doesn’t know everything. But it’s also the only group built on the idea of repeatedly trying to prove itself wrong, to gain the most accurate understanding of reality.
You’re wrong about “they worship science.”
Superstition was never “the best explanation we have at this time,” regardless of who may or may not have used that argument. The art of the apologist is to abuse argumentation tactics to trick people into thinking their position has merit, despite lacking any validity.
What’s funny is that those are the people and tactics you criticize, while using those very same tactics yourself.
It’s completely disingenuous to attempt to fabricate and emphasize “similarities between atheist/scientists and christians.” You want to talk about “annoying?” Try to read your own post from an alternate perspective. It’s ridiculous dude.
I used to be one of those materialistic minded atheist types when I was 15 yrs old, though, I never replaced religion with worshiping science or big government, or academia… I’d always listen to the merit of an argument before attacking a grammar or spelling error. But hey’s that’s me, I believe in being rational. Rational and logical aren’t always the same thing. But I outgrew that crap, on a philosophical level. Now I’m more of an agnostic….. So to me, this whole ideology seems like a bunch of angsty naive teenagers (no offense to any teenagers, not all teens are angsty smug attention whores– not not everyone whose seeking some kind of attention are necessarily bad either, so don’t misunderstand me here).
Do they try to prove themselves wrong? The process of peer review itself is dictated by pack-mentality bias. The strecker bros, had proof that the government created AIDS in a laboratory, they were gonna go public with this, and then they were mysteriously assassinated. Where were peer reviews for them?
Science, like any other religion, is controlled by corporate interests. It’s a business.

Also, if we evolved thousands of yrs through brutal hierarchy, does this not also apply to government? So, who funds our sciences? The government?
And yes, this WAS the rationalization behind religions, first time I heard about this argument (eluding to Pagans and why they worshiped Zeus) was in a science class, from my science teacher. “It was the best point of view they had at the time.”
If you read Plato “The Republic,” he even spoke about how it’s all a business. In his day they called it “The Great Work,” today we call it “NWO” or “Globalism.” He stated how it’s all a business, not only would they sell cures, they’d create the illnesses in order to sell the cures.
Plato also wrote extensively about “mystery schools” and how only the “elite” could be initiated. Secret societies… Lets take a good look at what JFK had to say on secret societies in his day, before he was assassinated

Honestly, i could dismantle every one of your assertions, but i’ve attempted such an endeavor so many times, with so many people, that i just don’t even want to bother anymore. It’s entirely too tedious. Plus i’m full of turkey and have a new video game beckoning me, so there’s that.
I do, however, think there is a place where we can agree, and that is this:
Take all given information “with a grain of salt,” and “consider the source.”
Just because the gov’t might not want certain scientific findings made public, that doesn’t mean that all science is thereby unreliable and should be assumed false and corrupt, seeking only advancement of its own agendas (but then again, any “agenda” that can correctly be attributed to “science,” should only be a better understanding of the world… anything beyond that is not “for science,” but is, instead, someone abusing science for advancement of their own agendas…)
I knew you’d get fed up with it eventually…
@”rojas”
lol. It ebbs and flows.
“You haven’t seen the last of me!…” (but for now, i’m disinclined)
w/e, I’m not gonna waste my time arguing about it.
Es rojas.
For now you are. “For now” will turn into forever.
It’s like druggies. “I’ll only have a bit of heroin just this once.” And what does that turn into clever? FOREVER. Well until they get you on the green drink and make you take that instead.
Personally, my view is a bit different. Chief among the atheists I can think of is Richard Dawkins, who, politically, I hardly view as a liberal.
The way he talks about muslims and his association with Hitch (always entertaining, but hardly ended up a liberal)…
I agree that there is a lot of hypocrisy in the Obama supporter camp. It’s none of my business since I’m not American, but from my viewpoint, the Republican alternative seemed worse.
Regarding science, I’d say there’s good science and there’s bad science. For instance, the whole field of psychiatry is so corrupted by money that what seeps out to the public is mostly manipulative lies.
And I agree that atheists with a love of science are sometimes very close-minded to other ways of viewing the world, which I find personally frustrating, because I suck at all things sciency.
Ideally science should simply mean curiosity, methodical curiosity I guess. I really don’t believe religion and science are mutually exclusive.
To me the problem is these atheists building, in essence “churches” for atheists. It’s just retarded.
Likewise, religious fundamentalists parading as scientists and promoting Creation as scientific fact is… retarded.
