I appreciate what you’re trying to do there mate, but in all seriousness you should only be trying for yourself and no one else. If that person is truly appreciative, they’ll see the amount of effort you’d put into making yourself a better guy or improving upon already established merits and realise that it’ll benefit them in the long run as well.
