No heaven, no hell, no god, devils, deities, lakes of fire … none of it – not … one. shred. of proof. not even and inkling of a clue to a possible piece of evidence can be produced that suggests and allusion to a possibility of a shred of evidence to suggest any of the above listed items/entities are now or ever where anything beyond mortal creations.
That’s what I think too. Maybe we are here to pay for sins committed in a former life.
That said I would like to be at peace when I commit suicide, that’s why I am trying to find some sort of peace, but I cannot. I am so full of rebellion, angst etc. If there is really something like reincarnation I would probably be thrown down again in a matter of seconds after my suicide and suffer again right now.
My father also used to say that this is Hell.
Agreed with dawg, heaven is merely a concept which man has created to have a certain hope for things to endure after death – the existence of soul. It is a comforting idea to believe that life doesn´t end here and we have the ability to see our loved ones again; have a sense of feeling that they are over there upstairs watching our back. Heaven is therefor only in our minds and thoughts – to believe in it, is what everyone is entitled to of course.
After all, there is no proof whatsoever of what religious believes tell us; we´re nothing but atoms and particles which have come from the Big-bang – and those little fragments we become again after death.
The concept of a heaven, afterlife or a spiritual realm after life is rather comforting in the midst of the unknown after death, but I see no sense in an eternal and static state of being.
I find non existence more appealing. It would mean we would be beyond happiness, suffering, pain and pleasure. We would be free from all conscripts that make us human and bind us to the physical world and we would be complete, in no need to exist anymore.
But if there’s a pub in the next realm where the drinks aren’t watered down and it’s tended by a friendly Irish chick who’d drink you under the floorboards… Count me in! That’s probably where I’d find my father as well. It’d be good to see him again and share a few drinks (read: an entire brewery) so we can catch up after all these years.
Happy Father’s Day…you humble idiot. First rounds on you.
Now there´s a one hell of a prospect to look forward to. 🙂 Hope you get to see your old man and have a few cheers with glasses of whiskey with him – best of the sort of course. Oh, and the servings – or the contents of the whole brewery – ought to at least be free after this much pain and suffering in this present realm, don´t you think?
I’d like to imagine there’s a pub in the after-life too. A pub with a karaoke bar and women of ill repute. Hmmm. I hope this whole stupid morality thing doesn’t apply in the afterlife.
Japan just scored on Ivory Coast.
I believe in heaven and hell. I believe in God. I wish he believed in me. I wish he cared. I wish he would help me, rescue me, fix me. I believe he is there. I just don’t believe he has any interest in me.
heaven and hell are states of being. they are inside of us. oh, and god doesn’t exist. good news though: Satan does. how can I claim such an outrageously outlandish thought?? I am the prince of darkness himself muahahagahahahahahaaaaass bow before my evil mortals. call me Lucy for short.
I’m dragging u to hell for the lack of humor. I’m pretty sure it’s one of the 7 deadly sins. right up there beside gluttony then comes lack of humor. your punishment will be to read an infinite supply of joke books to me in hell for eternity muahahahaaa
I definitely believe in both Heaven and Hell. I do believe in God as well. That’s one of the things that really worries me about suicide and even just dying a natural death. Where will I go? I think that there’s a good chance that I’ll suffer in hell for all of eternity.

I believe in Hell, and it’s called life.

Heaven? I don’t know about that, man.

Sorry to hear about your father by the way.
