Ever heard of MSM? It’s a dietary supplement, so it’s all natural. It enhances cell permeability and thus allows nutrients to flow more freely. It makes you feel a lot more energetic! Sleeping might be more difficult, but lol. Compared to the lack of motivation associated with depression, this makes me feel like I could do anything! Like woaaah. And it’s not a drug either, it’s naturally found in diet. It’s also called organic sulfur, and it’s in garlic, meat, chicken, eggs and milk and so on. It’s also available as pills and powders in health stores. The powder tastes awful. You should take it with vitamin C.
Yeah, just bought some MSM pills. Took like 6-8, probably. I feel awesome! I first came across this when I was researching how to cure my skin problems. Then I found out people also use it to treat depression and other problems. The powder tasted so awful I hadn’t really been using it though. You’re supposed to take 2-3 pills per day but lots of people take “megadoses” even 10-20g per day. (One pill is 1g). The only known side effect is an upset stomach, and you should up the dose gradually.
If you’re suffering from lack of energy, this might help!

Perhaps you should disclose your affiliation to whoever makes and markets this snake oil.
After trying approximately 50 different snake oils trying to fix the damage to my face, because professional treatment proved more damaging, I’ve become rather a snake oil enthusiasist.
I may have wasted hundreds of euros before finding something that works but whatevs.
What is science other than experimenting with what works, anyway? And then figuring out why.
I’m of the opinion that people should do their own research and figure out what works for them, instead trusting someone else’s words. I guess that includes me. Feel free to spend thousands of hours researching this shit, like me.
Did you know curcumin has also been studied to be as effective as Prozac as an antidepressant? Combined they have double the effectiveness. Curcumin is a spice you can buy in the supermarket and at least I guess it’s cheaper.
I don’t have an affiliation, I just have a distaste for the psychiatric profession, the meds they prescribe and associated side effects.
That’s a frickin organosulfide / solvent, isn’t it? O.o
It’s an organosulfur and the chemical properties make it useful as a solvent in high temperatures, yeah. The same chemical properties make it useful in topical products to enhance skin permeability of effective ingredients. Basically it makes it easier for nutrients to be absorbed, and waste to be disposed on a cellular level.
Don’t see any contradiction here. People have higher MSM levels when they’re young and this allows for cuts and scars to heal more quickly.
MSM also makes your hair and nails grow faster, because sulfur is needed to form keratin. It’s also required to produce collagen in skin and joints.
Here’s an article on MSM benefits I found on a quick Google search. http://www.evolutionhealth.com/msm-powder3.htm
“MSM is the 4th most plentiful mineral in the body, and so essential to life that it is found in every cell of virtually every animal and plant. “
Hey scars!
I’m a little late here but I just searched “supplements” in case someone else had been looking into the same things as me on here lately. (Never ceases to amaze me how there’s always somebody who’s either on a similar journey or talking about similar topics. It’s probably why I keep coming back.) I’ll look into this “MSM” and compare it to the supps I’ve been trying out lately: Evening Primrose Oil and Cod Liver Oil.
I’ve brought my “suicidal self-assessment” number down from a 6/7 out of 10 to about a 3 now, and with some dietary changes I feel like I could do even better so I’m fairly pleased. I’ll probably do my own post on this stuff soon. 🙂
