I came here hoping I could talk to people and share my story but instead I’m getting hate. I won’t be posting on here anymore but I may check it a few times. xx 🙁
I’m sorry. I do hope you decide to stay. People are very sensitive about the term “life gets better,” because for many, including myself, we believe it won’t. Many people on this site like to debate as well so don’t take it personally. We just want to express our opinions but I don’t believe we meant to sound hateful towards you.
Hey ka, I didn’t see any of your other posts, but from what hiohneh said, I can guess maybe you said something positive and it got stepped on. If that’s the case, like h said, try not to take it personally. When people disagree here, it usually applies to *their* life only, and not meant to tell you you’re wrong about yourself.
If something works for you, keep going with it. Share it, and maybe some people can benefit too. Of course though, this is a suicide site so you’ll probably encounter a lot of people who have tried most everything, and it didn’t work for them. Anyway, please stick around, especially if you have some hope to offer people 🙂
Yeah it was a positive post, unfortunately it was written like some fairy tale where everything got better for her, then plops ‘it gets better’ at the end. Sure, for some its reality that a similar scenario would happen to them.
Not everyone has a kind, supportive family. Not everyone has kind, supportive friends (not that I saw friends mentioned). Not everyone has a quick and efficient hospital service like that.
And anyway, if you want to die, they wont help you with that. Noooo, that would be a bad hospital. People want to make themselves look good. So the hospital saved another person, luckily for her, she decided she wanted to live.
‘It gets better’,but HOW exactly? She doesn’t explain. So i guess i will try. Just saying those little words doesn’t help at all. People have heard that enough.
While we are alive, we should try to find ways to make our life more tolerable. I know alot of you have tried that. I know alot of ‘fun’ things are expensive too. And some peoples lives are unfortunately consumed by jobs working long, long hours, no time for anything else. Most people have tried different hobbies, different social/sport clubs, church, etc. Keep looking on Google.
Some people are ’emotionally/mentally’ weak like me. Not interested in life. the other part for me, i haven’t even lived.
If you are depressed, maybe the doctor will give you meds. Maybe you get stuck on the meds and they never work. Maybe its society that requires fixing, and not you. Hence they may never work. You might as well see what the doctor can do, in case it helps improve your life.
Alot of people don’t have the drive/strength/capicity to go on in life. Maybe it even happens after ‘we all die in the end. Life is so pointless. Same stuff everyday.’
Well many people want just one thing to live for, whatever that will be… I know alot have been disposed of like rubbish by society, in many ways. Don’t think i need to list them… For one, people pretending to care.
I think overall its better if people can live and find some reason to, or make some reason. Nothing will just happen, you usually have to do something so maybe ‘it gets better’ should be reworded to ‘make it better, with some explanation on how to do this’.
Its ok to die too. We didn’t ask to be born. I don’t encourage it though. If you can’t escape this hell you are in, i don’t know what to say. Wont tell you to die, but I know some people cant escape terrible situations. I cant give advice. Oh, and some people get terrible physical diseases.
Totally I get it. Yea the words “it gets better” are like a loaded gun around here. I can say that my childhood sucked and it got better after I moved out. But for people who don’t have the option of moving out right now, it’s not going to magically get better.
I like your advice of ‘make it better, with some explanation of how to do this.’ Maybe that’s what she meant, I dunno. But that’s definitely the only way anyone’s life gets better. I think if someone is depressed and they find $1000 in the street, they’ll be happy for a while but they’ll resume being depressed. BUT if someone is depressed and they decide to make their life better, find a job they enjoy (or tolerate) and make $1000 that’ll last so much longer.
To be honest, judging from the first post Kaitlyn made she sounds like she’s still struggling like the rest of us. I do hope she comes back and maybe we can just clear up a misunderstanding and she can help us and we can help her.

Who’s hating on you?
