Telling someone life gets better is a half truth. Yes, it does get better, but it also gets a hell of a lot worse. The thing about life is it’s an unpredictable roller coaster. Soon enough the naive people who spout such nonsense are going to learn the hard way that this is not some cakewalk.

Your right To say that life gets better is a half truth. It gets better in some ways but it gets harder in other ways so in realty….. Life is never really easy. There is always something you have to deal with that sucks at every point of your life. But if you make good decisions with your life you can improve the quality of your life to some extent. Like you say life is unpredictable and it is like a roller coaster. You have ups(good times) and downs (hard times) but I find if you make good decisions you can have more of the up times than you would if you made bad decisions.
Thats why education really helps in life. The more you know about life the better the decisions you can make….. it also helps to know the right people who can help you.
Maybe it depends on one’s definition of “better.” Perhaps if you want too much you’ll never get better, but if you want small you’ll be happier sooner. Sometimes I think my desire for a cure to my problems/conditions is why I’ll never be happy. Maybe if it seems reasonable it actually isn’t.
Sorry, I’m thinking aloud. There are people who like to ride this roller coaster called life and enjoy the ups and downs. Then there are others who just want to get off it.
Your right! the only problem is getting off the ride of LIFE is not as easy as getting off an actual roller coaster ride. Trust me I wish it was
Hehe, me too. :p But one similarity between life and roller coasters is that they are both ridiculously expensive just to enjoy for a couple of minutes…x)
life gets better if you put a serious effort into it. “life gets better ” also includes suicide btw;since not existing is bettering life, as compared to constantly painful existence.
