Once I got to the top tier (very suicidal), I was sent a rewards card for 3% cash back on all hardware purchases, an all-expenses paid 5-day trip to the Caribbean and a discount on my car insurance. What did you get?
I really love that question it’s unusual! and hard to answer! the benefit i would say is we know the truth and we don’t like it! accepting the truth makes it easier, atleast for me it does, it actually went from i want to die to well……. i’m here why not give it a go? i think we are a special breed, we know to much! were smarter than the babes in the woods.
#1 benefit to being suicidal = why give a shit about the future?
Quit your job.
Take out loans you have no intention of paying back.
Rent a place near the beach, get drunk everyday and act live like you’re on a permanent vacation
What if you do that but then you haven’t died and the credit companies are hunting you down?
I generally advise living in the moment as well, but it is good to be a little cautious and think of the future. Don’t spend ALL your money on frivolous pursuits.
OH VERY DANGEROUS! Sorry, yes we must watch out! i did that! not a benefit! destroying yourself then not dying is very hard to live with! don’t go down that path.
I think it puts life in a perspective that others dont have. Making us less judgemental than “normal” people. I dont find the need to put others down for mistakes they have made and being different. Although Im not sure its a benefit all of the time.
Insight – into a new world, so much new information to seek and keep the mind occupied and there is still so much to learn.
Understanding – With insight comes understanding and empathy. I no longer judge people as harshly. The world is imperfect.
Reckless abandon – Why be afraid when you have taken some control over your lifespan.
Life – You think about suicide everyday, it’s always somewhere in the back of your thoughts, to remind you that there is a way out, an escape. Then maybe you only think about suicide every second day or maybe even go a week without the thought. What comes after that? Maybe if you do make it through to the other side ok than life returns. At least a respect for life as it can so easily disappear. I honestly don’t know what point I’m at and can easily shift between making up my mind one way or the other.
There sure is…
1.You can get drunk everyday and not give a shit
2. Smoke like a chimney who cares if you keep having mini heart attacks
3. Eat your favourite tasting foods everyday regardless of calories.
4. You don’t need to go to the gym to try look good
5. No big deal if you don’t want to get out of bed in the morning
6. Don’t need to pay off student loans for shit that never done any good
7. No need to think about financial security for the future
8. No need to feel like you need another human being to complete you
Well it certainly is, sure as hell beats being healthy so that you can live to a ripe old lonely age.
I like to think I’m taking proactive measures about my goals of dying without having to commit the “Act”. See I’m not so useless afterall. lol I’m halfway there docs say if I don’t change my lifestyle I will be dead by the time I’m 35 I’m 33. So I’m doing a good job so far 🙂
Folks you all came up with some really good ones.
Yeah I do believe there are some benefits to being suicidal or even borderline suicidal.
For me its like this. If you are suicidal then you can just cut right through the bullshit of living a long long life and just get right DOWN TO THE BUCKET LIST ITEMS FAST>
you know… like why wait to go to to this place or that place at some distant time. Fuck it I am suicidal Im doing it NOW> LOL
I would also get braver to try things that might be semi dangerous Like. Maybe Sky-diving or something. Or go on some wild adventure > because hey if it doesnt work out. Shit Im suicidal anyway.
i also think it causes me to think more about The BIG PICTURE of life instead of gettting wrapped up in the daily chore of living. and thinking about the Bigger Picture of life can do the soul a lot of good.
Well there have been a lot of good responses here folks.
So I like to say > whatever advantages you might get in life being semi-suicidal.. take them in and use them to your advantage! Really live before you die. LOL
that is something we should all be doing anyway.

I was going to say a lesser fear of mortality, but I’d rather have the discounts.
Especially the cheaper car insurance.
when i’m suicidal i tend to worry less because everything seems meaningless to me, so that’s one.

@ tired123. Our comments contain some similar thoughts. Sorry, you kind of beat me to it.
Also, no suicidal thoughts, no SP, no interaction with some amazing people.

Empathy and understanding. I think being suicidal brings a kind of depth you only acquire once you have been there.
