Reset

Hey there, I get what you’re feeling and that desire to forget the mistakes and darkness in the past. I don’t think there is a way to erase your memories, and looking back I don’t think that would’ve helped me at all. In order to move forward you have to come to terms with those experiences and either label them as a) yes that was my fault and I WILL do my best to be better and do better in the future or b) that was done to me and I had no control over the circumstances, so it was not my fault and I choose to distract myself whenever I begin to dwell on it.

You’re an intelligent person I can tell, but no you can’t reset yourself in the way that you have in mind. But you certainly have all the control over who you will be in the future, even if it doesn’t feel that way. Look for things you can change inside yourself that will make things easier to bear, and then see if you can change your surroundings. Yourself first, then your circumstances. Changing yourself will help you become unstuck.
