prep·per
a person who believes a catastrophic disaster or emergency is likely to occur in the future and makes active preparations for it, typically by stockpiling food, ammunition, and other supplies.
“there’s no agreement among preppers about what disaster is most imminent”
Used to watch prepper shows. They sound and look like hill-billy, gun totin’, rednecky nut-cases for the most part. BUT- I do think they have a point. If you have land (hard for ppl to do who live in cities), why not have emergency supplies and an emergency shelter / bunker? Granted, a zombie apocalypse or WW3 or a total collapse of human civilization might not happen, but hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, and other natural disasters do occur. Well, I suppose your bunker needs to be waterproof. Also droughts are likely, which then can lead to shortage of food, hence stockpiling some food.
What do you all think of preppers and prepping for a disaster? Or maybe something like that is not what typical SPers are into because preppers want to live so badly, and SPers want to die so badly.
Also, I think in the event something catastrophic does occur, the only humans who wind up surviving unfortunately would be those crazy hill-billy rednecks, and the “intelligent” people would all die, because they don’t believe in disasters likely to occur and so do nothing to prepare. And then perish.
hm, food for thought…

I would want to see a suicidal preparing for a disaster . I know how would i prepare . Popcorn , coke , all sorts of things to eat before the beloved ending .
Don’t forget a gun and bullets. A quick end is > a slow, drawn out death from starvation or something.
Ha! Just had a thought. Imagine a husband who’s a prepper and the wife is a suicidal person on SP? Imagine the two of them gettin’ along / fighting… 😛
I always imagined if a catastrophic event were to occur, most people on SP would be the ones to survive.
Why? Because the universe is ironic like that?
Yes, you know, irony and stuff.
