I live with my parents unemployed, haven’t had the motivation to do anything for a while but still want to be an artist (also my mother’s an artist) and one of her customers who’s become her friend online even though she lives in america and we live in the UK (also she’s Christian, I’m atheist) wants to send me money to ‘help me start my own bussiness’ . I don’t know her, I’ve never talked to her, but according to my mother since she has no children and she’s been talking about me, she feels close to me. This makes absolutely no sense to me, I’ve been trying to tell her to stop but she’s adamant about sending it. Do you think she wants me to talk to her or do work for her? Or do you think she’s doing it because she ‘believes’ it’s right? Or does she think I need more help? I just want to be left alone to make my own choices but everyone tries to force their damn kindness on me, it’s like an extra pressure cause i know I suck and I’m not grateful enough, hell I’m to lazy to take everyone’s ‘motivating’ words and actions to do anything. Why can’t they just hate me and be honest? Or at least let me go

Uhm, Interesting! She might have a good motive to help a friend’s daughter but its just too weird. Why would someone (esp someone who became friends online) do such a big favor?
Just say ‘no, thank you’ if you are not comfortable, don’t put yourself under pressure and save your dignity.
She could probably help the homeless and many other people who are in need.
My own family would frown at me if I ask for money to start a business. I work my ass off though they can afford to support me financially.
I may be wrong but you’re the one to decide. Think about it.
Depends what that person is. I have met a bunch of wonderful people online who saved me so many times. They helped even though we didn’t know each othervery well.
Maybe it’s one of her ways to make her feel like a good person, or to glorify herself. Who knows… Take the money. Who doesn’t like free money!?
