So, I got into a car accident and spent a week in ICU and another week in a regular medical unit. This wasnt a CTB attempt at all. Apparently, i passed out while driving and hit 4 cars.
When i arrived to the hospital, i had no pulse and my organs were failing or slowing down. The cardiologist told me i would have died if no one found me as quickly as they did.
I have no memory of being in the emergency room, ICU, nor did i see any light at the end of the tunnel. The voices of the medical staff just faded out and it was dark – must have closed my eyes.
2 days later in the ICU, i woke up and had this full oxygen mask on because i wasnt getting enough oxygen. I didnt know where i was or what was going on, so i managed to rip off the oxygen mask. The nurses ran to me and asked whats wrong. And i said this mask stinks like new plastic and its making me nausous. They said i had to keep it on because its the only thing helping you breathe. I also lost 10 pounds because my throat hurt like hell from the intubation tube.
Anyway, when the doctors and nurses explained to me what happened, i was thinking DAMN!! Why didnt you just let me die…i would have been perfect and would have been easier than the plans i have.
I guess if i happens again or something, im gonna have to write DNR all over my body. 🙂

Oh wow, what an event that was. Yes I agree, some things are best left alone, like in your case. When you do your DNR put a copy in your glove box and other places first responders typically look in. Depending on where you live there are other advance directives that really limit what they can do to you.
I really need to take my own advice and get these documents prepared. It is easier than ever with the online services Legalzoom offers.
I am so with you on this. It was a motorcycle not a car but I’m there. Seriously, life flight? FU, why wasn’t I left in the street to die
“…write DNR all over my body.” – I was thinking:
DNR
Do not life flight
No 911
No ambulance
I got this, I’m good
Was also thinking it gotta be like a face tattoo to get the msg across early n often
No CPR. No life support. No intubation. No Flight for Life. This last one is not covered by any insurance company and could rack up a $30,000 bill real quick. This could matter to those with heirs.
That’s some fucked up shit. If the mothman starts talking to you, please let us know!
Woah, this was so interesting to read. The “stinks like new plastic” part made me smile, I remember everything in hospitals smells so weird for me
I really hope you could let us know how u’r doing now…
[ I do hope u’r still here with us 🙁 ]
