I would like to think that you zip out of your physical body, transition into the astral body, in the astral plains feeling euphoric. I invision floating through clouds and on the other side and seeing/feeling great things. But as stated if i live another life in any sense id probably kill myself again too.

I for sure see the thought and fear behind that, but if it’s reincarnation without memories of your past, do you think its possible you could live a ‘normal life’ amongst the normies. Basically, would you be okay with living a traditionally ‘happy life’ if it were giving to you in reincarnation? or do you just see it as pointless and therefor, a waste of your time?
@MissYouLoveYou
I like the idea of that, you know what scares me more than reincarnation though. Unzipping my self and going into the astral plain, but still feeling not at home, peace or whatever you want to call it. Only this time, the option of suicide don’t exist. That is probably my biggest fear.
@ whatshouldmynamebe
To be honest I seriously doubt it. I had a normal life, living amongst normal people and I blew it. So no, reincarnation is not an option for me. I will just going to screw it up just like I screw up everything in my life. Like I said if there’s reincarnation, I will have to kill myself again. I desperately need rest π
yea, Im leaning towards an almost going home type of thing. I don’t lean towards an after life as we know it. I don’t think of it as linear, as in were going somewhere. I obviously don’t know though, thinking about time just trips me out.
Do you believe in traditional christian values? As in do you believe you would be condemned for taking your life? Im just curious, not judging in anyway.
Some people get scared of the idea of absolute nothingness, no memories, no sense of you. no nothing. Personally I think of it the same as going to sleep. Assuming you don’t recall your dreams of course. I find a little comfort in that though, no chance of regret, of wishing you had something else, just blank.
So much of the fear and anxiety is rooted in the notion that when we are dead, we will continue to experience human emotion. If the brain is dead, is not also the ability to feel emotion? Hell if I know, but I hope so. Nothingness will work for me, as long as my emotions die with my brain.
They say the only thing that continues on is the conscienceness. The brain is what gives you the ability to feel, id say feeling are left behind, but who knows if whats next has a feeling effect also.
@Once
That’s a very good point. All these emotions that lead to people committing suicide seems to be strictly human. Strictly neural, all just the brain. I guess these human emotions and the thoughts that come along with it is all anyone knows. But that is certainly where any fear of mine comes from.
@MissYouLoveYou
I’ve heard that too. It gives me comfort thinking of conscienceless as separate from human feeling and or emotions. Even if consciousness goes on to feel again, as long as there are no memories of these feelings and emotions than that seems perfectly okay with me.
According to Schopenhauer, “after your death you will become what you were before you were born”.
So what were you before you were born? Do you have any memories of that period of your existence or non-existence? If there’s no pre-life, what makes you think there’s an after-life?
That makes total sense. The thought I have with that, is that if there is no pre life, than that means that nothing ‘you’ did provoked you being born and being conscious, therefor, if you go back to that state, it would only make sense that you would be born again, though with no memories, so i guess maybe its not really ‘you’. Maybe it comes down to what we think we are. Is our whole sense of self just our memories?
There’s an interview on YouTube, Neal deGrasse Tyson giving his thoughts about reincarnation, the afterlife, etc. He said he doesn’t recall ever being anxious to get to Earth to begin his life as a human. Tongue in cheek, but damn I like that thought. I’ll reincarnate from now until forever if that’s how things work, provided I bring no memories with me. I have no awareness of anything that might be a past life memory, other than when I discovered gravity and theorized relativity.
The reason why you were born is because your parents had sex. Nobody asked you beforehand if you wanted to be born, and as far as I can tell you never chose your parents in the before-life.
Since I have no memories of having lived and died before this current lifetime, I have no knowledge of what happens afterwards. I can tell you stories about what others believe, but stories without credible proof are just stories so I won’t waste your time.
You’re right, Schopenhaeur’s quote can be interpreted in a couple of different ways. That’s part of the reason why I like it. π
I pray there is no Paradise. Because if I am me for the eternity this could as well be hell. Unless they have unicorns and rainbows XD. I think reincarnation into a fantasy world being a bad- ass two swords character riding a unicorn would be great. But, strangely enough, I kind of doubt this will happen

I think your soul goes on to feed the great old one under the ocean as he prepares for his rise to spread madness and insanity among the living.
you think your fed to it? or that you become one with it?
i definitely believe there’s something after this, just unsure. i think about this all the time.

I believe in a traditional Christian afterlife system, but I believe that the Zoroastrian system is better, and Iβd prefer that.

I hope there is nothing. Blissful nothing. No dark, no light, no silence, no anything, just nothing. Why would humans be needed elsewhere?
Yes. Why shouldn’t every vestige of self be obliterated?

Reincarnation into a fantasy world.
Thatd be nice. I could be doctor strange. I wanna be doctor strange.
That would for sure be nice, I would just hope that your fantasy brings purpose.
if itβs reincarnation iβd just wish to be my fathers daughter again.
Thats really sweet. I hope you are too.
Thats beautiful, i feel the same.
