The problem with Time Machines is that you first must move them to the place you want to visit. Wait until the Star Trek transporter is developed, then you can have them beam up the Time Machine, get beamed to the locale of your choice and then travel in time to your preferred time.
I would give anything to have a time machine. Though I suppose even if I could go back knowing what I know now, I would be able to avoid the mistakes I made. But I would probably just make different ones and it would be a case of the old adage “wherever you go, there you are”…or, “if it hadn’t been this it would be something else”
I agree…actualization might as well be in a different universe.
I did a bit of searching on kijiji but haven’t made any calls yet. (my mom was in for the weekend and I stayed at her four star hotel. We had a really nice time.) The $200 a month room is gone and there really isn’t much below $5oo and some people want ridiculous deposits too. (I’m looking at roommate ads only)
I’m almost thinking along the lines of a seedy motel. Maybe even in another city…somewhere far away from everyone where they can just forget about me and I can just go…like in the song “Angel” by Sarah Mclachlan…about escaping “from that dark old hotel room, and the endlessness that you feel”…
I hope I’m not barging in on this thread. Depression is no joke, but your post made me think of a band I haven’t listened to in ages. Maybe it’ll work as a little pick-me-up. A little distraction shouldn’t do any harm.

Finding a gently used, pre-owned Time Machine.
No one wants to sell their Time Machine.
I’m starting to think they don’t exist.

What is your preferred place and time, Morris?

Hey, I understand how you feel. Sometimes even reaching for the glass of water next to the bed seems impossible.
I hope life gets a little more manageable for you soon. I know it’s hard. Wishing you the best.
Thanks for your support. I really appreciate it.
Meaningful connections.
Home repair.
Travel.

How’s the hunt for a new place going?

Oops. Typo : ” that dark *cold hotel room” (not old hotel room…)
You’re in Canada?
You’re in Canada?
Yup. In Canada. And no passport so I can’t go somewhere totally different.
