Have you ever made a decision that was irreversible/un-doable/irrevocable? That you wish you did not make that has forever changed your life?
There are some decisions in life that you just can’t take back. Many decisions are minor or have minor consequences. Some decisions, however, can have disastrous or unforeseen (to you at the time) consequences.
Yeah, I’m sitting here bemoaning the stupid ass decision I made back in 2006. Not just ruined my life but I would have had great success here, in many areas, had I stayed.
Yes yes, hindsight is 20/20, blah blah. Doesn’t make it better that you made that decision (or series of decisions that led to a particular bad something), when you could have just stayed in the state that for some reason, was working out for you, in so many different ways. But no, you had to leave. And for that, you paid, dearly, for the next 10 years.

Oh yes! More than once. And as I look back at a life that’s almost over, I wonder why I wasted so much time wishing it was over. Unless some very unlikely miracles happen, I will be dragged from this life screaming and full of regret. Not a happy place to land. But yeah, some things can’t be undone. Or done, if you wait too long.
We are not born with crystal balls that we can gaze into to see the right paths for us. I would love to go back in time to prevent myself from making a few terrible decisions.
Some smart people ( NOT ME ) are able to listen to their inner intuition before making a big decision or they pray/meditate on it. We can’t live in the past and keep kicking ourselves.
As they say hindsight is 20/20. When we’re making a decision sometimes we’re careless, shortsighted, perhaps drunk or emotional and we do something really stupid that we can’t undo.
It’s the story of my life and I’m generally a logical/sensible person but I still do dumb things on the odd occasion. I think that’s just typical of being human-we don’t have all the answers and we gain knowledge by learning.
But try not to beat yourself up over it. I learned over time if you F-up, you can find another path or create one, to your goal. I always wanted to be well off and I thought a high-tech career would get me there-but that never happened. However I got smarter from that process and found a much better way to get there which fits my risk-taking style and personality.
Not to mention, mistakes can sometimes be our most valuable teacher. Because I was socially inept when I was younger, I learned over time how to read into people’s true intentions and how to act according to certain situations. How to be chilled out but also to be on guard for enemies looking to undermine you.
Some mistakes are really like playing with fire and if one is not careful, they can do irreparable and lifelong harm. There isn’t much to learn from them except to know they were very bad decisions and never to repeat them again.
I’ve had a few of those I wish I could take back. But since I can’t, I go on with life trying to realize my dreams (and avoid getting into serious trouble). If that never happens or if I find I’m really sick of living then I’ll look for a means for a relatively painless and quick exit.
