I’ve been in Japan for about 2 months now, and things were going very well, including going on a date with a great guy.
But I just learned today that my dog has been very, very sick for about 5 weeks, and that she’s probably dying. From what my aunt said, for the first three weeks I was gone, she kept looking for me like she usually does, but then one day when my aunt came home, she ran up to see her, made a little noise and collapsed, I think because she thinks that I will never come home to see her again. She won’t get up anymore. So this is all my fault.
I’m still here in Japan for another month, and I don’t have the money to go home any sooner.
I just miss my dog and I’m so scared that she will die while I am gone.
I don’t know what to do.

If she means that much to you, find a way to go back asap. Go to the airlines and request an emergency itinerary change on your return ticket. Don’t take no for an answer, and don’t fall into the trap so many of us have fallen into: choosing guilt over action.
I bought my ticket through a third party service for extremely cheap prices. They have an absolute iron-clad no change policy on their tickets, and because if the way I booked, I cannot speak with the airline directly because they will say to talk to my third party rep.
My best bet would just be to try to find a new, cheaper ticket, which is what I am doing.
Also a question:does your aunt or anyone in your family have enough sense to take your dog to the vet? That should be absolute top priority
We know exactly why my dog is dying. It’s complications of the heartworms that she was treated for before I got her.
I’m so sorry to hear that your dog is unwell, it must be heart wrenching for you being so far away. Is there anyone you could borrow the money for a ticket from? Or take a loan, I know it’s not the best option but if you see it as a short term answer so that you can get back to see her. I’m sure that there is a way, sometimes when we are so upset we can’t see it that’s all. Get a piece of paper and write down every option there is and go from there. Really hope you find a way and hope that she is ok, take care
i’m sorry
Your dog wouldn’t want you to get hurt. Just hold on. And remember the soul never dies.
Well, my aunt just told me that my dog passed away. So no need to try to rush home anymore.
I’m so sorry for you Minxtou.
