Does anyone have any advice or tips for hiding cuts. I really dont want anyone to see them and get any more worried. All I do now is wear long sleeved shirts. I shaved my wrists and its pretty obvious so sometimes people pull it down to see how much i shaved i guess? or whatever other reason they have. Maybe there is no advice for this and Im just awaiting the inevitable. this sucks. hope whoever reads this is doing ok.

When I cut, I usually wear sweatshirts and long-sleeved shirts and if someone asks, I just say I got a little cold in my room (believable because my room is really cold). After a scar appears, I go back to wearing short-sleeved, don’t know if that’s any help seeing as you already wear long-sleeved.
yeah to be honest i don’t think theres anything I can do other than wear long sleeves accompanied by some lies. I was just wondering if there was some advanced method I could not see.
What I have learned during my ’emo-phase’, is that arm warmers aren’t just cool to look at, but can hide your cuts there. After all these years, they are still helpful, eventho I’m not 16 anymore. Make sure to wear them every once in a while without cuts even, so people won’t grow suspicious and ask. Hope this could help 🙂
Wearing things like arm warmers is not something I would normally do. But to be fair, a lot of people dont even know what cutting is, so maybe they wouldn’t be suspicious. I can just have a really cool arm warmer on for the rest of my life and say its cause i think it looks cool.
wrists are a pretty bad place to do it if you don’t wanna get caught. It’s best to choose places that will be less seen- uppermost portion of the thighs is my preferred.
If you buy/acquire hot topic fingerless gloves they have a very thick wristband portion that can cover the base of the wrist very well. If you wear them with the wristband over the hem of the longsleeve shirt it secures it/ minimizes chances of the sleeve sliding down.
If you’ve got them further down the wrist yeah virus is right abt the arm warmers+ longer fingerless gloves. also stacking bracelets works if you’re into the kandi look or have a bunch of scrunchies. wearing kandi and a sleeveless shirt is my go-to during the summer.
I like doing it on my arms too much to stop doing it, I dont even think I could stop if I wanted to. I forgot I have a lot of bracelets, I’ll probably start doing that. Thanks <3
I got some sick tattoos but they have to be good and something you really want. You can still kind of see them but it’s better. It sounds terrible but just use your upper legs. I’ve got like thousands of scars but only a few were visible and the tattoos cover well. And at a certain point I just stopped caring. Yup I was sad a while ago, have you looked around at the world like ever why would this happen. Yeah I should get a better way to deal with stuff. It’s a conversation over so fast. No big deal. You can’t join the military. They check you in a medical office and you’re disqualified. I got so mad. Oh well maybe it was for the best.
Finding coping mechanisms that actually elicit real feelings is pretty difficult. It gets so hard that you always seem to end up relapsing to whatever harmful thing you were doing in the first place. I dont think I can tattoo when your arm is all fucked up, can you? anyways, I dont think you need the military. If you can’t go there, its a sign that theres something better waiting for you. All you have to do is find it.
