Does anyone else’s blood boil when having to deal with CSRs? ESPECIALLY shitty Amazon Customer Service. I’m fucking pissed. AN hour and half on the phone/chat and they still don’t do shit. Fucking bullshit.
Have anyone noticed CS has gotten worse since 2020? I mean they were never good but after 2020 it’s been a NIGHTMARE having to talk to them. AND they don’t help you in any way.
Anyhow, just a RANT -_-

I don’t blame them though. They were called hero’s, worked harder than 80% of people for unfair wages, and they get the short end of the stick with so many things. Customer service isn’t that anymore, it’s more like customer information, nobody actually has any power to fix anything and nobody that could cares.
CSRs were never called hero’s. Nurses, educators, grocery store workers and delivery ppl were called hero’s during the pandemic, not CSR’s. These ppl work online / over the phone. They were never called hero’s and their jobs/lives were never put at risk.
oooooh man, do I have a lot of feelings about this. First, I spent the first year of my working life doing customer service and sales, and I wasn’t sociopathic enough. I realized that all I did to please my employer was improve metrics which actually assured that clients had a worse experience. Fast forward a few years and I tried to go into the field again, and found I had lost whatever knack I once had.
There are two kinds of customer service interactions, and the ones to gather information are the least awful. But what if the company has reached an incorrect conclusion, and you need that corrected? That’s when you’re screwed.
and I personally can’t do those as phone calls any more. Like, when I do I have to set aside an afternoon and at least three nonproductive hours of me screaming into the phone. That’s the cost. I detest it so much I have crafted my consumer behavior around preventing it. Like I have an awful Internet Service Provider, literally one of the worst companies on this planet. The thing I found out is that their hardware rarely requires tech support. I’ve talked to them three times in 9 years of working with them. And short wait times too, on the rare occasion I need to talk to them about something.
But, arriving at my ultimate gripe; Amazon. First, my entire digital purchase library is tied up with them, so I can’t currently break up with them and have to come up with even more creative threats to make. Second, they removed the chat option from the customer service page. This was recent, because as I said I don’t spend time on the phone with CSRs if it can be avoided.
anyway, workaround is that you interact with a chatbot until you figure out the right options to put in to get to chat with a live rep. Yes, this is faster than calling them, and I’ve told them that.
but they are the most evil company on the planet right now, and it’s getting competitive.
Oh, another fun gripe I have with them is that they invented a new thing called Amazon Flex to allow people to gig work delivering packages. It was going to be my way to earn money so I can escape this hell hole, because on my schedule I could make it work….. BUUUUT my car is ineligable, and they don’t pay enough for me to make money at it with my truck. So there goes THAT idea.
I’m thinking about lying to the plasma folks so they buy my blood, I really want out of this backwards ass state. And it’s not like it’s a terrible lie, it’s about who I had sex with, people lie about that shit aallllll the time.
amazon has changed their policy on reimbursing you for late orders, orders never received, etc. they used to eventually correct the problem after like 30min with them, but it’s total dickery now. Now it’s 1-2hr, and NO ONE does jack shit for you to help you out.
who did you have sex with that makes your plasma ineligible? isn’t that putting other ppl (recipients) at risk?
how much do they give you anyway? i don’t imagine it’s much…
It’s because of the backwards policy regarding blood in the United States. If you are a man, and had sex with another man in any manner you’re supposed to disclose that before donating. Which I have traditionally done, I was young once and explored that part of my sexuality. The issue for me is that first, I’ve taken multiple screenings for STDs. Second, it’s been a decade.
So the chances I’m passing on AIDS is remote, really remote, and that’s the reason for the policy. Well, the stated reason, isolating and marginalizing alternate sexualities seems to be the effective reason. I don’t even know my blood type because of this BS. Supposedly most of the time they’re short of blood….. but apparently not enough.
Well, so I was trying to research the amount you get (I’ve been told $50-$100 a week), and I couldn’t find anything about disqualifying, so my information might be outdated. They’re pretty tight lipped about the exact amount, I think it varies by location. It might also vary by blood type, which as I said I have no idea of.
There is a great documentary on the blood business. It’ll make your “blood boil.” There’s also a whole section on the ppl who sell their blood.

wow, did a quick search. in some places, it’s as low as $30-$60.
i have donated blood once (not plasma, like regular blood donation to some hospital or whatever, for free) and i will NEVER donate EVER again. those greedy bastards take WAY TOO MUCH blood out.
it’s stupid how they do it. they take the MAXIMUM they can out without causing “harm” to the recipient, meaning that halfway is probably the OPTIMAL amount. but no, they draw the maximum bc they’re greedy, and it puts some ppl in danger- of hypoglycemia, of bruising, of slow healing afterwards, etc. they’re a bunch of vultures!
(not discouraging you from donating, if that’s what you want to do. you’re a much bigger guy than me.)

“When you donate whole blood (the traditional donation method) the target is to collect 500ml, but a minimum of 460ml is taken due to dosage requirements and necessary anticoagulant additive mix proportions. This volume represents approximately 10% of a donor’s blood supply.”
Yeah, the problem is it’s 10% of WHO? Taking 500ml from a large male is going to produce vastly different results than from taking 500ml from someone small, female, like me. That’s like taking 20% out of me! VULTURES!
“HOW MUCH BlOOD WIll I DONATE? Whole blood donors give 500 milliliters, about one pint. WHAT HAPPENS TO BlOOD AFTER I DONATE? Your blood is tested, separated into components, then distributed to local hospitals and trauma centers for patient transfusions.”
>That is such a LIE. If you watch that documentary I linked, it shows that the MAJORITY of blood get sent to private companies and sold to countries around the world (bc other countries forbid the donation of blood)
“When donating blood, the standard donation is approximately 450 mL, slightly less than half a litre or two cups. This represents a small portion of the blood in a person’s body, as the average adult has about 5 litres.”
>The AUDACITY! “it represents a small portion of the blood.” uh…10% is NOT a “small” amount. ESP when the person is smaller than average and they STILL take the SAME amount out. A$$holes!!
>>Just FYI- repeated plasma donations will make you weak. Even a big guy like you. It mentions the health aspect in the video.
“Medications for high blood pressure do not disqualify you from donating.”
>Wow, there’s tons of medications you can be on and STILL be able to donate blood. Which is great for the donor but shite for the recipient. The quality of blood we receive is terrible!
>>The documentary also shows WHO are the types who sell their plasma- junkies and unhealthy poor ppl. and they lie on their application so they can get paid.
the quality of American blood is terrible!!
One good rant deserves another. CS is sure lacking in our auto insurance company right now. The wreck occurred back on Nov 3. We had to wait until Dec 18 for an opening at a body shop. The very next day the body shop sent us and our insurance company an estimate, nothing. A few days later the body shop sent the estimate again. Checked with insurance today and they said they never received it and yet(!) the insurance adjuster has been out to see the car and called us saying we should proceed with repairs. It leaves us wide open to trouble if we go forward with no settlement, so it keeps sitting in the shop. But that’s not all.
My other peeve is Microsoft. My password quit working and it will not let me update it. We have another account with Microsoft also. Password works fine but absolutely no new user we pay for can actually be launched. I really don’t see why I should be hanging out on the phone with CS just to get a company to do what it is paid to do. Update:
I canceled recurring payments for one of the accounts. It does nothing and that is what I will be paying for it going forward. For now we keep the half ass working account out of some notion of convenience.
