We need something like this, but for depression and for chronic illness. IDK how we’d structure that IRL, but this is what we need, in order for ppl to understand us and have some damn empathy!!
i wasn’t talking about pregnancy specifically. The point of the post was that I wished there was a way, like this example, to physically show ppl just how difficult and debilitating depression and chronic illness is like, so that we don’t get dismissed as being “lazy” or “weak” bc that’s how the world views us.
And in my case, it’s a double whammy bc my REAL physical issues also get dismissed bc they can’t see chronic illness bc that’s also invisible to them, just like depression (unless someone is in a wheelchair, has crutches or something).
It’s the thing that’s as true as time- if ppl can’t see it then it doesn’t exist. and depression and chronic illness are invisible, so ppl have ZERO belief in us, and have ZERO empathy or sympathy.

well, but he missed out on morning sickness, and the weird cravings. Mind, I’ve never had such a thing either, but I’ve heard they’re common
