So I went to see my regular doctor for the first time in a few years, and that wasn’t fun. Which is why I don’t like to do it. I have to go again next month. At least it’s free. They also aren’t giving me any medications, so that’s an upshot too. They’re just poking me and this time they took blood, and that sucks.
This next visit on Friday shouldn’t be nearly as much of a pain. I’m just going to get my medications checked up on. They decide if they want to change anything. I’m hoping they keep things the same, because I take enough pills as it is. Six different prescriptions and some of those are for multiple pills. That’s not including supplements and over the counter stuff. Or the THC.
I guess that’s where I’m at, in this holding pattern while I work on five different projects at once. I have to get this grad school application out by the end of the month, and I have other stuff that I have to do as well in the next few days and next week. The wheel doesn’t stop turning now that I wash dishes and cook, along with whatever else needs to get done in the house.
Which I’m hearing it myself doesn’t sound healthy, I’m working on how to approach it when I’m good and ready. Either I need to reframe, or I need to discuss it with my wife, one of the two. However, I’m also not working, so me doing all the housework on a small house might not be a big ask. I’m a fairly large man. I’m just tired.
One day at a time. I did some work today on my computer, and think I’ll be playing a few more games. I already have Star Rupture, and I think HELLMART is coming out soon. I might even work on my project some more. All the parts for it are just sitting here on my computer waiting for me to work on them.
Ugh though, I keep running into trouble with power management and Windows 11. It’s because I built this computer before Windows 11 was out, and upgraded it, and so there’s some kind of bugginess in it that it won’t keep working. I know it’s a ploy to force me to upgrade. “Oh just go out and spend a few $1000 on new parts”
Yeah, I’m sick of it, every time Windows gets a bug in their butt that they need more money. I know there are advantages to the new hardware, it’s just the expense.

You’re trying for grad school again? How will you get it paid for? And what would your degree be in? MSW?
I’ll work my way through, that’s how grad works, I’m looking at doing a masters in psychology with research as my focus and there’s a good lab that I can work in at the school I’m applying to, the backup is teaching which I wouldn’t be averse to.
I have a few weeks left to get the application finished though, just got a big infusion of cash which is going to help because I have to get transcripts next week. One reference left to get, and I have to make a statement about why I want to go to grad school. So, lots to do.
