I’m good with what I’ve got, but I just wish I had the ability to reprogram my head. Just like with a computer program, I wish I could open up the code and erase a line or a subroutine that’s causing trouble. For example I would erase the shitty “PTSD flashback” subroutine that kicks in every time I’m reminded of certain things. Wipe that shit off the books. If I could have that 1 simple power, I’m confident I could navigate this world, maybe even accomplish great things.
Sylar from Heroes had that ability- and to program other ppl’s minds too lol 😛
Damn that would be amazing. I wouldn’t even need to reprogram others, I’d just reprogram myself to not give a shit about all the idiots in the world. Imagine if you literally didn’t care, if you saw other humans as just plants or rocks or some other brainless object, the world wouldn’t be such a suffocating place.
But then you’d go evil
A better memory and a whole lot more faith.
Above all you gotta have intelligence-genius level, but be able to hide it well. Being smart opens a lot of doors for you and to figure things out…so getting a degree would be a piece of cake.
While it’s no guarantee you won’t make mistakes, but generally you’ll make good decisions. I’m smart, but not super-smart, where I could’ve realized in some situations I was making a bad move…until after something blew up in my face.
Next would be being hot…a pretty face ofc is useless without charm and a good personality, but it allows you to meet someone who’s also hot or that you’re drawn to. Having had a taste of being on both sides of the fence, when I was considered cute/attractive by girls….it was a great feeling, like a drug, but fleeting as looks fade over time.
Third the ability to sing…there’s nothing quite as seductive as a beautiful singing voice. It makes a pretty girl ten times more attractive…then to become a big star, that’s an experience on it’s own…..but fame is double-edged sword too and I like my anonymity. Ofc not just the voice but you need to write incredible songs to sing (or be given them), that people remember over the years/decades.
When you have such talents, the money will come automatically, but it’d be better to be born into wealth so you aren’t held back by money problems…as many of who were born into lower income families have experienced.
Those are the main ones that stick out in my mind. Would be nice to have superpowers like Superman, but that’s stepping into the fantasy realm.
To expand a little on singing voices, for females I’m thinking of Kelli Ali from Sneaker Pimps songs like ‘Spin Spin Sugar’ (ADG remix)….Sade, is one of my absolute favorites.
But there are other great voices too such as Taylor Swift, Madonna-conventional sounding I know, but they both put out a lot of great hits, Enya, Shania Twain, Shirley Manson (Garbage) to mention a few. There might be even better voices that I didn’t think of.
As for guys, I’ll go with George Michael as my top pick and Dave Gahan from Depeche Mode as second best…there’s also Michael Hutchence from INXS, Gowan, Sting, Bono/U2…but if I had to pick a voice for myself, it’d probably be Jesse Rutherford’s (Float, the Neighborhood).
I think most people are born with this talent/ability. I recall a girl from grade school whose penmanship style was amazing and she said she never took any lessons, it was innate-I’m sure she’d write beautiful calligraphy if she wanted. Just like artists who can create stunning life-like drawings, with just a piece of paper and a pencil.
I’ve tried to improve my singing voice over the years, I’ve gotten better over time, but I know I’ll probably never be good enough for the public…perhaps with some help from a great music coach, I might be acceptable…but I’m definitely not born with any special artistic talents unfortunately.
Many (if not all) artists ofc practice singing, like Celine Dion, Mariah Carey and so forth…but I still feel you need that natural ability first that could be refined later.
