So I did a bad thing. Today is my boyfriends birthday and I was scrolling through facebook and saw a post from a friend of ours who I think over steps her boundaries with him.

It was a happy birthday post, however it wasn’t good. It basically said “you’re not at uni, you don’t have a job, you don’t have any hobbies and you don’t leave your room. Maybe this is the year you’ll do something. Happy birthday my lover and my friend”

My mother doesn’t understand my depression. I seek advice.

I’ve recently been diagnosed with bad depression and anxiety. I cut myself often and have been suffering from insomnia recently. The only reason I haven’t killed myself yet is because I would be leaving behind the best boyfriend I could ever hope for.

I haven’t been able to discuss these issues with my mother because she doesn’t believe in depression. She thinks people with depression are just weak-minded. She doesn’t even know that I’ve been diagnosed with depression.

She treats me like shit, and gets frustrated when I lock myself away. The suicidal thoughts are getting worse, and I’m getting scared.

What do I do?

My Family Doesn’t Understand, Please Help.

I’ve been miserable for two years now. I’ve been self-harming during those two years and have been thinking about suicide, but never acting upon it.

My parents won’t do anything to get me any help, because they don’t believe in depression.

I’ve been trying so hard to try and get happier by myself, but it’s driving me into more sadness and despair.

I’ve been trying to stop my self mutilation, but my body has been craving it. There’s a part of me that wants to cut myself and see how much I bleed, but there’s also the part of me that doesn’t.
