I was hoping someone on this site could give me an idea where to go on the web or anywhere that couldn’t show me a way out. I’ve tried doctors, electroshock therapy, counseling, etc. Been horrible depressed for 30 years and now anxiety is daily to where it’s unbearable. Doing counseling, excercise, all the typical “cures” My doctor has me on 8 mgs of zanax a day and basically does nothing. Somebody please, 30 years of hell is enough. Contact me if you have any ideas

Wow, I’m so sorry. I’ve been depressed for 6 years and I’m currently in 8th grade… I thought 6 years was horrible… 🙁 I’m so sorry, I don’t rly have good “medical” ideas but here’s a few stuff you can do.
-start to play music
-write poetry, stories, songs.
-exercise
-yoga
-try a new religion, wicca, buddha, etc
– go on vacation
-go out and meet new people.
And don’t worry ur not alone, I suffer from anxiety too.
Sorry to hear things are not going well — for a while as you say. It is difficult once we assign ourselves a label; it defines us, limits us, convinces us we are somehow not like anyone else.
I won’t minimize your plight: truly I don’t know your whole story so that would be unfair. Sadly, for you, me, and everyone else here we have a choice: live or die.
And, I’m at the moment choosing live. There are always reasons for either choice, but—let us say you choose live.
So “live” we do and make the best of it. This means each day we get up, shower, VITAMINS (especially the B group) and we look for something good each day.
Maybe we volunteer, pet sit, commune with nature (gettin that vitamin D @ same time).
Bottom line: no matter how bad you feel or how hard it is you move. Decide to be well. Believing something good will happen is a start.
Been there, still go there, almost died coded in 09′
So…give me your hand and off we go to find the good.
Have you tried non prescription drugs?
Have you ever been prescribed anti-psychotic drugs?
They sometimes have the side-effect of cheering you up. I had that experience with Seroquel (Quietapine).
As for a “permanent way out”, I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. My own “plan” will probably involve unconcoiusness plus a snowdrift.
