how many scars do you carry?
for me it’s now 56 from cutting and 8 from burns. but the burns I don’t generally count as they’re not really visible unless you stretch the skin. and most that I did didn’t scar so.
where do you self harm?
I used to most frequently harm on my left shoulder, but I kinda ran out of room where it would be hidden my a t-shirt. So I’ve switched to my right theigh (sp. it’s 3am give me some credit xD)
What’s your timeline?
by this I mean, like, when you started and what you did. scratching, burning, hair pulling, cutting etc.
for me, I cut three times about 10 months ago, they were just small scratches, they scabbed but didn’t bleed. after that I didn’t harm again for about 5 months. but when I did again, I’d heard of burning. I burnt. ALOT. for the next month, practically everyday, it was very addictive. but the lighter didn’t really do anything anymore so I’ve gone back to cutting.

I was a cutter first, the wrist. (it was winter and i could get away with covering that). then people found out so i switched to scratching, then hair pulling, which led to me being a trichotilimaniac. now i cut on my waist, right under my ribs.
well, I’ve been cutting over two years now. I really can’t even count all the scars I have/had. a lot of them have faded but a lot are permanent.
I used to cut on my wrists but people started noticing so I now do it on my thighs, every so often my stomach.
I’ve never burned myself, thought about it, but I like the sensation of blood and seeing my own blood.
I havn’t cut for awhile because my parents check me. Last time was probably maybe less than a month ago. I’ve been craving to do it though, I just need to find a new spot to do it.
I started about three years ago, but have only ever cut. I started first with knives on my left arm, then safety pins and eventually razorblades because it required very little ‘digging’ to draw blood.
I also went through a period of doing it on my thighs because people were noticing my arm, but after I realised that the scars on my arm weren’t going to fade (it is a bit of a mess, but not as serious as other people’s on here), there wasn’t much point in trying to hide it so I carried on doing it there.
Having said that though, I haven’t done it properly for a few months although I think about it quite often. I ‘test’ doing it every so often though, just to make sure I still can, incase I want to.
