I want to jump but I want to make sure when I jump, it will be successful. How far down a cliff do you have to fall to die and not be mangled? Would it help if I take something first? If I get drunk first will I bleed out more quickly?
Thank you.

Yo.
It’s quite difficult to jump and hope that the body won’t be mangled. The most efficient method is to land on the head, on a hard surface (that means no trees or anything below).
I should be saying something like “please don’t do it”, but I don’t know how to say things like that. Ugh.
If you need some info (on this or other methods) or someone to chat, you can contact me at dontpokeme@hotmail.com (yeah, dumb email). Same thing applies to others, too. Though I may not respond immediately due to timezone difference — I stay in the Asia Pacific.
Yeah teshyn is right, whatever u do. DON’T HIT WATER
Barely anyone dies from that… Why not a building though? Why are you jumping from a cliff?
@teshyn: the poster is saying they want to die and not JUST mangled.
@LOL and anyone else thinking along these lines: DONT jump off a building. Buildings are in densely populated areas, you might cause a traffic accident, and at the very least you will attract a lot of attention and either be rescued by police, or waste police/ambulance time when they probably have better things to do.
So.. why do you want to jump?
@one_day: Ah I see I misread the sentence. Well, no matter.
By the way, I beg to differ on not jumping off a building. I find it more effective and certain than, say, OD-ing. IMO, bungled suicide attempts cause more problems than successful ones. But of course, you’ve got the civic-minded argument going for you…
For sure, physically jumping off the building is sure fire. But even aside from complications with civillians… if you get spotted, police might set up one of those trampoliny things to catch you, if you don’t move fast. And, I don’t think suicide should ever be done under time pressure.
@one_day: Yes, I agree that suicide shouldn’t be done under time pressure. Which is why the individual needs to think it through carefully. Well, I’m a pro-choice person, you can probably tell (:
Leaping off buildings is the #1 method where I come from, ’cause there’s just so many tall buildings. There have been tragic cases, though, of the person committing suicide landing on a passerby, and both died.
@teshyn: Japan? Landing on some innocent passerby, yes, that is exactly what I mean.. especially in densely populated areas. My friend also saw a jumper land right outside her office building. She was very traumatised…
I am also pro choice (given the decision is thoroughly thought out) but I also think that, as this is a personal choice, one should make every attempt to minimise risk to innocent bystanders… unless you want to die a murderer.
@one_day: Nope not Japan. Well it’s better not for me to say, since the government here likes to censor everything. Small country, tall buildings. Not near China. You may not have heard of it.
That’s why cliffs are a good idea, since people won’t be there. Hence the popularity of Beachy Head.
I thought about doing that once left a suiside note and made my way over only to have the police beat me there(aflatmate arrived home early and found my note)so embarrassing i got arressted and chucked in the bin for three weeks arrrhhh!!!
