I’m tired of waiting “for things to get better.” Will my life and my inner turmoil ever get better? I’m a realist; sadly I’m not a sappy hopeful. Life is not very bright and optimistic. If my life hasn’t improved by now, what evidence is there to suggest that it’ll get better at some mysterious point later?
That’s the same logic that has me down I’m only 24. Age is kinda irrelevant to outlook. Mitsuko @45 still has a 30 years of life expectancy. At every point before our deathbeds we all have time “to turn things around” but we all know is easier said than done. I think the problem is logic. To be optimistic is to be illogical. We are unable to train ourselves to have an unrealistic positive outlook.

Leper colony? I prefer to think of it as endless halls of wailing faceless ghosts.

Exactly. If only I could be illogical and ignorantly optimistic and happy.
