I am gay
I am Christian
I am in the closet with my family
I moved countries to put distance between us so I don’t have to face up to the truth.
I entered into a civil partnership
The lies are getting more and more
I am tired of christians who hate me for something I have not chosen
I don’t want to go to hell.
I have lost all hope
I want to die…….

Hey there,
I have a friend who recently came out to his family. His dad was super Christian and everything. I love my friend. He is a great guy. He has the best heart of all time. There are people that I know that are Christian, that have done things that are so much worse than what my gay friend has ever done. What I am trying to say is that no matter who says what in your family, you are NOT going to Hell. IF there were such a place, we are living in it right now. If people don’t accept you for who you are then, that is hell because it causes you a lot of pain and suffering.
I don’t know if I believe in a God to be completely honest. Because to me, if someone is angry and jealous as some Christians say God is, then that isn’t a Godly quality to me anyway. I think you should just live your life. Come out to your family and hope that they will understand. Maybe they will not understand right away, it will take time, but eventually they will come to accept you. And think of your partner too. Maybe he loves you! When you find someone you love that also loves you back, don’t let them go. That is true beauty and peace and if that means you are going to hell apparently, then I say, to hell with that idea.
You are an awesome person! Don’t ever forget that!
I hope this helps!
Others happiness is not dependent on you sexual orientation. Everyone has freedom of choice. A lot of times our belief systems create prisons for others which control and keep you from aligning yourself with your true nature.
There is no shame in anything except for when judgement is project by others on to you.
You are free to make choices and stand by them. If you feel you need to create stories, that’s up to you. You know your circumstances, and of course it’s your choice. Many have been in your shoes and came out. I know my bros. is gay but he’s in the closet and he is denying that part of who he really is. If that’s who he is, then why not live the truth…everything else is just bs. Pretending that everything is hunky dory in the face of some religion which makes everyone think they’re closer to God.
Loving and appreciating yourself unconditionally is the way. Question is, how courageous do you intend to be? Good luck.
living a lie is not living, its lying and there is no happiness in it, you gota man up/ woman up and face the music, YOU ARE GAY, your family and friends can either accept it or they cant, either way once they know you can move forward, even if everyone in your life leaves because they know your gay, at least then you can start to rebuild your life, but this time it will not be a lie. and you will be much happier for it.
By the way, todays christians are terrible misinformed, Im roman catholic myself and i have read the bible from cover to cover, It does not condem gay people!!!
Did you know that back in jesus’s time there was alot more gays then there is now, and they were accepted in socity, Seriously google it if you dont believe me.
This anti gay buisness is a 20 – 21 century creation, like romance and love.
And for the hell buisness, even if there is a hell and i doubth there is, even if you live your life a total crimnal and never do a good thing, If you ask god for forgiveness on your deathbed all is forgiven as long as you admit your sins. So i wouldnt worry about it.
I dont believe in god anymore, but im gona do it on my deathbed just in case, I dont want to miss out on the lesbian pool on cloud 9 just in case heaven is real.
Peace 🙂
By the even if its just one person, i dont care if your gay or stright or a circle, your just another person to me, If your friends and fam are like me they will love you regardless.
I would.
🙂
Hi redcross.:) God loves you. if i were you,i would pray to him about it,about everything. i’m a christian too,and if someone claims to be a christian and they “hate” you, they aren’t being very christian, are they ?God doesn’t hate,He is love.:) i’m here for you if you want to talk.
Unique, I’m intrigued by what you say because, when I search on Google, I can find loads of Christian websites that explain to me that homosexuality is a sin.
For example, one such website states the following:
The Bible consistently tells us that homosexual activity is a sin (Genesis 19:1-13; Leviticus 18:22Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9). Romans 1:26-27 teaches specifically that homosexuality is a result of denying and disobeying God. When people continue in sin and unbelief, God “gives them over†to even more wicked and depraved sin in order to show them the futility and hopelessness of life apart from God. 1 Corinthians 6:9 proclaims that homosexual “offenders†will not inherit the kingdom of God.
God does not create a person with homosexual desires. The Bible tells us that people become homosexuals because of sin (Romans 1:24-27) and ultimately because of their own choice. A person may be born with a greater susceptibility to homosexuality, just as some people are born with a tendency to violence and other sins. That does not excuse the person’s choosing to sin by giving in to sinful desires. If a person is born with a greater susceptibility to anger/rage, does that make it right for him to give into those desires? Of course not! The same is true with homosexuality.
I don’t understand how they can make the above claims when you say that you have read the bible “from cover to cover” and not found any evidence that it condemns gay people. Are they wrong, or are you wrong?
Perhaps i should clarify somethings then, yes i did read the whole bible, more than once, mabey more than 100 times, the reasons why i did that involve an abusive father.
Anywho, i know all that stuff is in there, i wish i could forget everyword now, the bible or god didnt help me as a child, Also i was a taking a leap that redcross61 hadnt read it and therefore perhaps there could be some comfort in my words.
And by the way the ENTIRE BIBLE was edited by an emperor of rome, He had every copy of the old ones destroyed and had his new one put in its place. So basicly you cant believe a word of that book anyway.
And Homosexuals were acepted in the time of Chris, if you wish to push the matter i can refer you to some writings by scolares of the time that describe the era very differently than the bible does. (Im a history Buff)
Anywho i dont want to get into an argurment on someone elses post.
I ment what i said, Homosexuality is a part of nature, there is thousands of documented cases of gay animals that have been reported. It just happens, some of us are different, not wrong.
Because were all different.
Peace 🙂
Christians seem to put a lot of faith in a book that ‘you cannot believe a word’. I agree with that statement though.
Edited by the emperor of Rome. All sounds rather dubious.
It is not for any person to tell you how you should live. Their opinions are often founded on principled which have been construed in their own interest and not yours.
The sneaky old Emperor of Rome! I knew he must have been behind it all. He would have gotten away with it too, if it wasn’t for those pesky kids!
@Yoda
Emperor Constantine, who was Roman Emperor from 306 CE until his death in 337 CE, used what motivates many to action – MONEY! He offered the various Church leaders money to agree upon a single canon that would be used by all Christians as the word of God. The Church leaders gathered together at the Council of Nicaea and voted the “word of God” into existence. (I wish to thank Brian Show for pointing out in his rebuttal to this article that the final version of the Christian Bible was not voted on at the Council of Nicaea, per se. The Church leaders didn’t finish editing the “holy” scriptures until the Council of Trent when the Catholic Church pronounced the Canon closed. However, it seems the real approving editor of the Bible was not God but Constantine! This fact is revealed in the second counter-rebuttal to Brian Show’s first rebuttal to this article. This counter-rebuttal makes the following important statement and backs it up with FACTS – “Therefore, one can easily argue that the first Christian Bible was commissioned, paid for, inspected and approved by a pagan emperor for church use.” Quote from newton.
Told you im a history buff.
Gosh, it almost makes me glad I’m an atheist.
I do feel sorry for all the Christians, though. All those hours spent in boring old church, not realising they’ve been conned.
I’m going to pray for their salvation. Hopefully Jesus will hurry up and make his return, so everything can be sorted out once and for all.
Im guessing your being sarcastic, I dont usually question peoples faith in anyway as i have no valid opinions on god,
the only reason i argued this is because you said all that about the gays not going to heaven and such, so i just went about proving my point, and yes it just so happens to make the bible seem like a fiction,
But thats the price of truth im afraid.
FYI i didnt make any of that up, its just facts, not my opnion.
In short what im saying is, it nothing personal.
Peace 🙂
I didn’t say anything about gays. I simply quoted what one of the easy to find Christian websites says regarding the bible and homosexuality, in response to your claim that you had read the bible and found that it did “not condemn” gay people. I thought the two viewpoints were somewhat at odds, hence the reason I questioned you about it.
As I said, I am an atheist and therefore I have freedom of thought on all things. My opinion doesn’t depend on me needing to read some silly book that was written X many years ago and which contains either the words of God or, if you are correct, the words of an Emperor of Rome!
However, given what I read about the Christian attitude to homosexuality, I can’t help wondering why a homosexual person would ever want to become a Christian.
just like to point out that the Bible also says its okay to burn women if they aren’t pure (Letivicus 21:9), cut off their hands (Deuteronomy 25:11), and that women are always inferior to men (Corinthians 11:8) among other things. obviously these are not still valid beliefs. true Christians don’t follow the Bible literally in every way.
redcross –the quicker you come out to your family, the more time they have to accept it. it has to happen some time for you to be happy, so why not sooner than later
redcross61, I am so sorry that your post as been absconded. If you really want to talk to someone who could actually help you or at the very least keep the dialogue about YOU, please feel free to message me. rsbrock20@yahoo.com.
