My birthday, just another day. 17 years of age and somehow, I wish I were older, perhaps wiser, because if all of the things I’m facing now are making me want to end it all, dear God, what will I do when I’m older? My parents didn’t say happy birthday, and my best friend called me at 3:00 am to tell me it, he’s my everything, he’s the reason I get up in the morning. And I can’t tell him that because of what everyone would think. It’s not that, I wish, but it’s not. He’s had my back since 1st grade. He’s just amazing. But anyway, I just waking to walk away from it all, but hey, I can do that now.

Let him know how you feel.
Try not to worry about what everyone thinks.
If you care about someone showing them through words and actions is of utmost importance.
You never know what wil happen tomorrow which may prevent you from telling them.
And spend as much time with them and talking to them as you can.
My cousin was like my twin brother. One day I talked to him making plans to see hin in a couple of weeks, the next thing I know he’s in the hospital on life support.
So much I did not get to tell him and now he’s gone.
Happy Birthday.
Wisdom and good judgment comes from experience … experience comes from poor judgement OR learning from the poor judgement of others
youth always want to experience the world for themselves … they think somehow “I won’t fail like dad/mom/uncle did … this time it will be different” … no … probably not, and then you have the embarrassment of admitting your dad was right … this happened to my too many times to count … until I finally learned when I was about 30 yrs old that maybe when I hear dad’s voice in my head saying “don’t do that – it will end badly” … I should listen.
Not everything … and times and technology does change … but the warnings and guidance from those who have been there before us should at least give us pause to consider if the outcome is really worth it … or can we just take their word for it and learn from their experience instead of doing it ourselves. It’s the same wisdom either way
happy birthday.
