Here is an article to read: http://www.newdaynewlesson.com/you-can-always-find-someone-worse-off-than-you-remember-to-be-grateful/
Its very true though when one feels depressed or suicidal one does not like/ want to hear such things.
I made myself read it anyway – then I forced myself to spend at least an hour thinking / writing about as many people I could who are worse off than me.
There is a lot of people – from neighbours, to friends, to people in countries at war, people who have lost limbs, partners, children. Its a good excercise to do and gets ones mind off things.
Its a real brain f* that one can feel so down with ones life – there are people far worse than us who would love our lives and turn them around even – and we just can’t do it.

I’m kind of hesitant to post on this because I think you have good intentions, but this probably doesn’t work for everybody. It might do the opposite, in fact. It does for me. A few days ago, I saw a homeless camp in some woods behind a taco bell parking lot, and I felt horrible because I didn’t have enough spare cash to buy the occupants anything to eat. Depression is irrational as hell. But most of the time, it’s just hell.
True we can’t solve the problems of the world. But we can make a difference one action at a time. We can do what we can do. Good thoughts also matter. Just your thought that you wanted to help is good. Though you cant let it bring you down.
It all goes down to what we can do and what we cant do i.e. what we can control and what we cant control.
We can control our own actions and thoughts and letting our negative thoughts overwhelm us on a daily, hourly basis is not helping anyone – especially not ourselves.
Sometime what anyone can do to keep going can help others?
Even though we feel that ending it all is the only option.
Yea, also even though on face value it seems like you can compare your life to others in terms of worsness and it is true that your life can always be worse, but I don’t think it’s okay to compare people’s sadness. Even if you do have money and a family, doesn’t mean that you don’t have right to your emotions of depression. Someone who lost everyone close to them, yea that sucks, but that doesn’t mean that they’re any more depressed than another
