Before researching pretty much everything there is to know on this internet about suicide, I spent  6 months looking for an answer in multiple books and documentaries about the universe, existence, the after life and the so called God. I went from reading about all the famous philosophers to learning about every religion. Listened to Depak Chopra and other spiritualists…
It was when I stumbled across these near to death expiriences. That was my last finding. They were the most interesting out of all my findings. If you’re interested in the afterlife, there’s a lot for you to discover. There was sooo much beauty after death according to these people that were pronounced clinically dead for hours even before getting a heart beat or any brain function that I went through all of them in the web.
At the beginning it scared me that there were some hellish ones as well but it was a relief to see that in the end they all had a peaceful ending in which they were saved. It was surprising to see that a LOT of people that experienced a hellish journey into the unknown had had nothing to do with suicide but accidents mostly. On the other hand, some of the people that had attempted suicide (not most but still) had had a godlike experience where they felt at peace.
I’ve become more skeptical about the truth behind these experiences since science claims they are psychological and I can’t make any sense of a God in this world, but I totally believe these people and their claims about getting to see their own bodies from above as they leave this earth. They even get to witness whats going on around them while they are absent.
If I am still here in this world is because I am afraid of the pain I will endure while the process of dying, failing on my attempt and winding up in a much worse situation in life and because of the mess it’s left behind in every aspect. I have no fear whatsoever of what’s on the other side and I am confident that if there is something it will be much more beautiful than the life I live here right now.
Still for all of you that somehow find the courage to leave this place, I do recommend you take note of something that Depak Chopra says in his book: “Life After Death”: A person’s consciousness in the after life will remain the same or follow the path of your last thoughts, feelings and believes as you depart. If I ever commit suicide, just in case this is true, I will see my death with beauty and trust that a lovely understanding energy will embrace me.

Hiya BlackSwan.Mmmm I have mixed thoughts about this subject.6 years ago I had to have an emergency c-section with my daughter and was knocked out cold because something went wrong.I twice died on the table. My heart had to be started on 2 different occasions and the second time it was almost 4 minutes.I can promise you that I had no clue of this I never seen any light had a god like experience nothing. My husband was in the waiting room and they told him that things were bad and that he may loose me and the baby.He said that he prayed hard and he said he felt a god like experience in the waiting room when he prayed for us to be alive. Not long after that he said they wheeled my daughter in and she was perfectly healthy.I nursed my Mum for almost a year with pancreatic cancer.she got very sick about 4 months in and she was lying on the bed not very conscious but was saying clearly that she could see my Papa and her her brother (Uncle and Papa both deceased) she said they where waiting for her at the beach. The Dr arranged for my Mum to have oxygen tanks in the house and she slowly made a recovery. They said that because her brain was being starved of oxygen she was seeing things.I think its all within a person if they believe in something themselves.I’m in a mind now once I go I go that’s it but my husband is convinced there is more to it because he really felt something that night.I’m not sure if this has helped or not but I truly believe that if you really want something to be your truth then it should be.
As I began to move toward the light. I saw my gradmother. She said you got to back.
If there is a afterlife. Why do people from the otherside. All way’s say you have to go back.?
Consciousness come’s from the brain. Ok Parnia is writing a new book due out February 2013. pretty clear this is related to the AWARE study.. study is the first launched by the Human Consciousness Project, in 2008 a three year study. A multidisciplinary collaboration of international scientists and physicians who have joined forces.
The summary doesn’t mention verified OBE (either through seeing the target images or a Pam Reynolds like case). It simply states we have awareness while “out of action”, but we always knew this.
It doesn’t say we have awareness out of body while “out of action”. If the study offered convincing evidence OBE occur separately from the brain, wouldn’t that have been a major selling point of the book? I think that would be far more interesting than what the current summary indicates.
relationship between mind and brain during clinical death, and is led by Dr. Sam Parnia. The team will be working in collaboration with more than 25 major medical centers throughout Europe, Canada, and the United States.
During the AWARE study, physicians will use the latest technologies to study the brain and consciousness during cardiac arrest. At the same time, they will also be testing the validity of out of body experiences and claims of being able to see and hear during cardiac arrest through the use of randomly generated hidden images that are not visible unless viewed from specific vantage points above.
In a near death exp. People say they see thing’s over there body Drotors. So if know one see’s the images then where’s the proof.?
As I began to move toward the light. It was so beautiful & i fealt pure love. Then i was my dad’s dentist wife’s hair hairdresser. who died in a car crash a late last year
Leaving 3 children the youngest was 6 mouth’s. She said you have to go back. I did’nt want to. But i did.
Not was SAW MY DAD’S DENTIST
hmmm.. NDE… well i will tell u what i believe… we have a soul.. the real us… then there is universal power.. hindus call it paramatma…meaning supreme soul… depending on your karma ur soul will be cast into … millions of bodies… human .. non human… untill u finally achieve moksha… meaning release… and bond with the supreme soul…
Where’s the proof. The the aware study results should be out later this year. I think Dr sam parnia objective & made the study bulletproof. Over the last 3 year’s there looked at 2500.heart attack cardiac arrest. 20% will say they had a NDE. The 500 should see the hidden images. If not why not.?
i dont know what u believe buddy… but i believe its an eye for an eye… seeing as no matter how many people a serial killer has killed, he himself can be killed only once… so it will take millions of lifetimes for his crime to get what he deserves….
shefeek likes fairy tales &story’s. A Serial killer deserves what .? Whyif we all get born like a million time’s. Maybe he’just enjoy’s killing people. And if we all get born over & over. So it not really a big deal is it.
Consciousness is part of the brain. It can not function independently. When they say that they were dead, practically they were not completely dead.
The real truth remains it unknown. Spirituality vs. science. The concept of consciousness is sometimes confused because of a matter of semantics. According to some it’s the sate of being aware of existence in whatever dimension it might be independent of the brain.
All I am saying is that the near to death experiences are interesting and if you look into them you’ll find how some people are able to give proof of seeing what happened around them while on the operating table or while in the morgue. I don’t think they lie, not even the best hollywood actors are able to deliver such performance. Still it could all be an ideation of the brain. Who knows.
Hey Black Swan,I didn’t forget!!! A rare occurrence for sure. But it is late and I am weary…so I’m gonna get lazy and just post a link to my experience…I posted this with IANDS shortly after my experience almost 12 years ago. There was a lot more to the actual experience….felt limited by the format of the website….not sure how much to share at the time. So if there is something specific you would like to ask? Feel free.http://www.nderf.org/NDERF/NDE_Experiences/lori_m's_ndelike.htmNeither science nor spirtualism has all the answers…perhaps an entanglement of the 2? Please see quantum physics , theory, mechanics…whatever…lmaoAs well…the brain is a physical structure…the computer if you will…the mind is non-physical…the observer…and has been proven to exist outside of the physical body…or rather survive physical death.During your search…was there anything that resonated with you? Just curious. More curious about what prompted your search. Care to share?Random….I have been told that I am a walk-in as well…do you know anything about this subject? Just curious…I dunno.Sending lots of postive energy your wayAmakua
