If you have a story that keeps popping in your head, write it! Write! Write! Write! You have to grasp that inspiration whenever you can and get it out. It doesn’t make you sick, no matter how horrible and gruesome or sad or twisted it may be. Stephen King isn’t sick!
I used to write all the time. I mean, all the time! I had so many short stories, long stories, novellas that I had written and I loved it. I would get so involved in them, I would just leave myself and delve into the story and stay there for hours. Writing chapters upon chapters a night. Then.. I began therapy. I “got out of my head” as I tend to say to my therapist and now I can’t write anymore, not the way I used to.
It seems you have to drive yourself a little crazy to be able to write.
So I urge you, if you have the inspiration for a story, any story, write it. I’m still waiting for the day that my writer’s block is broken through. I miss it more than I can describe.
