Hundreds of people a day, if not thousands, join this website wanting someone to hear their voice, to understand them, to be welcomed with open arms by people who have been in the same situations as them. This leads me to think, how many of the people who aren’t with us anymore are dead?

Too many.
One of the inherent risks of joining a site like this is that at some point, people will take their lives. But thankfully, this site exists so that people can talk about how they are feeling and hopefully decide not to take their lives.
Thats true.Too many people.And im sure there are many more who even dont join this website.But we are still here,we all have problems,and we can help each other.There is nothing better than telling some stranger your story.He wont judge you,he will UNDERSTAND your feelings.So lets help each other.I think every mind is too beautiful to be wasted and discontinued.

If it’s any comfort, it’s probably a lot fewer. I’d wager the number of people who join this website per day is at the most in the double digits.
For every suicide there are at least 10 attempts. A lot of us on here aren’t even attempting. We’re just hanging out in our depression.
We can all help each other, but nobody has the right to decide whether others should live or die, only that person. I thinnk so many people are gone. It’ss their decision though whether we like it or not.
Having a place to vocalize my darkest thoughts help diffuse them.
I wonder the same thing. I bet some of them join and read for a bit, then get busy with life and forget all about this site. Surely SOME of them are dead, though.
It would be nice if there was a messaging system, one that delivered notifications to your email.
The only way to really know for sure if someone committed suicide, would be if one of their friends or relatives logged on here to tell us, since the person obviously can’t.
It’s hard to say probably a lot. We can’t really put a number since there are those who, probably like me, don’t come here often, since this site is very triggering for me. So we don’t know for sure if they’re still there or they’re already gone. Still, that’s the beauty of this site isn’t it? We don’t know much but what we know is that we’re not the only ones, and we can find help.
