Being called stupid, an idiot, nothing, and told I should run away so I wont be anywhere close to here just isnt worth it anymore. Especially when it comes from your own father…
He doesn’t really mean it. Some people lose their temper and say things they don’t mean. My dad has done this before too, but I know he still loves me. Your father still loves you too.

That’s indeed stupid, you don’t do that towards your own child, sorry, I don’t have any strategies, tactics, tips, hints, or coping methods for you.
-indeed, you didn’t said that, misinterpreted.
Oh wait, here’s a very good website with explanations of Coping Mechanisms, take a look: http://changingminds.org/explanations/behaviors/coping/coping.htm

Search on Google “Coping Mechanisms Changing Minds”, first link, very good information on coping with a variety of situations.
Hmm, I get it. You can’t magically give him the power to control his temper at all times towards you and others.
Maybe, you can see what evokes thoses uncontrolled tempers of your father, and try to avoid that which evokes it.
— or, just ‘let it be’, and keep on going. —
