I felt like I had to post this: words of encouragement for anyone who has hit rock bottom and is determined to leave his/her pit of misery. I’m going to list what worked for me and hopefully it can inspire some
Books: the ‘right’ books can uplift your spirit. The further I got into certain books, the less I felt tempted to return to good ole negative thinking. Some authors really make you want to change your way of thinking. Books I recommend: awaken the giant within (by Anthony Robbins, self-help genre); the vibrational universe (by Kenneth JM MacLean, very interesting if you enjoy outside the box thinking) and when the shoe fits (by Osho, ‘philospiritual’ book)
Meditation: I downloaded this beat back in late 2011, for the hell of it or so I thought. I put it on my iPod not that long ago. I listen to it while laying down, prior to sleep. It puts me in this amazing, very relaxed state in 5-7 minutes
Thoughts: train yourself to change your negative inner dialogue to an enhancive one and if done long enough with a feeling of faith (at least 5-6 weeks in my experience), it’ll alter your emotional state. It seems delusional to praise yourself when your current reality is telling you should do the opposite, but your emotional state is a result of your thinking. How will you feel better if you keep acknowledging the belief to be a failure ? Trade your defeating thoughts for new ones that are reflective of who you’d rather be and embrace them .. Easier said than done, but it gets easier if you keep up the practice
now, I’d be a liar if I said I no longer think of suicide. At times, I still feel the temptation to leave this world by my own hands. But the difference between back then and now is suicide went from being an urge/the only option left to an occasional option/thought
Best of luck to everyone

Amen! Get outside of yourself and help another human being in need.
And for goodness sake if you have children DON’T leave this legacy for
your children to suffer with after you have gone IF YOU ARE SUCCESSFUL
in your attempt.
I love this post. Thanks so much for sharing (:
