Hi, I see a lot of posts about people cutting. Â I am not judging- we all deal with our pain in our own ways. Â Mine is to mope and cry and isolate from the world. Â I’m just curious- why do you guys cut? Â Does it actually make you feel better, or does pain actually feel good in a strange sort of way?

People suffer unending anxiety fear and pain without any apparent source. Many of the girls have eating disorders too, and hunger pains add to the suffering.
So when people mutilate themselves by burning bruising cutting then they can see a wound of some sort. It’s maddening to suffer mostly without having apparent wounds.
Many are unsure about why they do it. It calms them down or “just feels better.”
I have never understood it either… seems to be popular with teenage girls but I always saw it as attention seeking (especially when girls post photos of the cuts on facebook!!)
Major Payne: “want me to take ye mind off that pain??”
Combo of self-hatred and anxiety, I think.
Hi Bah, I started cutting at 15-16 many years ago before it was common and so people thought I did it because I was just insane. And maybe I am lol. I did it because the mental anguish was just too much to bare and it gave me some relief from it. Many times I just couldn’t take the feelings anymore and I would cut and it would relax me so much I would crawl right into bed and go to sleep. The urge never really stopped and I am definatly not a teen anymore but the urge still pops up once in a while when I feel I cant take it anymore and I still do it.
