I know it’s “important” and all, but that doesn’t mean I enjoy any of it. We as students have to endure 35 + hours of school each week (yes, I did the math), but it never seems to be enough for teachers or parents. They still demand more and more and never think we deserve a break. All the weekend homework and the failure to acknowledge that we actually have lives outside the classroom infuriates me. It makes me suicidal to think that no one appreciates the time I actually spend trying to please them, but then again, I’m tired of thinking that’s my only purpose in life: to make everyone else happy. I have a motherfucking term paper I have to deal with and no time for living, and everyone else I know is enjoying the freedom of being done with school and actually getting to be the person they want to be. Where’s the fun in just sitting back and watching others have fun? My sister just graduated high school and is going to college and I’m still stuck in HS for another two years!

Well your sister did her time so she deserves the freedom, whys it make you any different? Because you don’t like how much time it consumes? Because there is plenty of teenagers who still have fun well in school lol you just have to make time
The only person who has told me he had fun in high school is my Dad, but he says that’s because he neglected grades and goofed off the whole time. He says he wonders how he managed to graduate sometimes.
Hey prog, I was starting to get worried about you. Yeah I remember the feeling… each teacher thinks their class is the center of the universe so they assign you a 2 hr homework assignment. They don’t realize (or don’t care more likely) that you’ve got 6 other 2 hr homework assignments. So you end up 8 hrs in school, 12 hrs homework, 4 hrs sleep? Zero hours for a life.
I also understand how you feel about your sister because I had a brother who graduated 2 yrs ahead of me. Even though pdc is right and they earned their freedom, it sucks watching everyone party & have fun while you’re left behind :/
All I can suggest is to listen to tons of music while you’re working on that term paper…
“Our song
It gives us a reason
Our song
That good remedy
Music has magic
That stuff of syncopation”
…Although I may have just branded myself a total dweeb because 90125 wasn’t a *real* prog album 😉
Thanku. NOOO!!! 90125 is totally a prog album in a way, just 80’s style. 😉
I hate school too
