Random meditation about Suicide: It seems like the fastest way to kill yourself tends to be the most painful (in most cases).
Like there is a kind of correlation between the speed at which you die, and the pain you have to experience as a result.
Gun, jumping, train, excruciating pain for a brief period of time. Drowning, suffocation, kind of the middle ground. Starvation, dehydration, pills, uncomfortable pain for long periods of time. This thought entered my mind after a long day studying which method, dehydration or starvation, would be less painful. Between these two, starvation hurts less, but for a much longer period.
Of course if you are in a confortable situation, going for the longest suicide: “life”, seems -hands down- like the best choice.
I thought it was an interesting fact to consider.

Starvation is fasting. Those trying this avenue will often have an ephiphany and will no longer desire to die.
I tired to see how starvation and the dehydration method would go about… let’s say time is your biggest enemy. Thirst and hunger become unbearable at the 4 day mark but anything else after gets easy. Its just the waiting, it seemed to take forever. I wasn’t serious about it but I did to 4 and half days and it serious felt like 2 weeks.
I would not consider life no where near “suicide”. More like long agonizing, meaningless death.
I choose life for now. But I can’t stop thinking about other choices.
********, the holy grail of suicide is theoretically painless and quick, but acquiring it is a tricky, onerous ordeal. I’ve researched suspension hanging for a very long period of time and at this point I’m confident in its reliability and efficiency. I’ll continue to look into things though, thank you for sharing
