Last year I would cut my self every chance I got. My friends, Hunter and Laura, were the first to notice. The keeper telling me to stop but I continued. Then my teacher, Ms.Ring sent me up to my school’s conciler. She told me all the reasons why I should live. I have a brother, a sister, and so many friends. When ask me why I wanted to die. I told her about how I get called so many names, and how everyone says I get my clothing at Walmart and the doller store. Then when I go home I get called more names like slut and hoe. So I yell back till my grandmother calls the cops and I get taken to jail. I’m 14 I don’t have a mom,my dad is in jail. I’ve cut my self, taken drugs to overdose, attempted to hang my self, and lots of other things but every time my friends stop me. some times I’m glad they do sometimes I’m not but then I think about my real family and my friends.

I wish that I could go to your school for one day. To the people who ride you because you buy your clothes at Walmart, etc., I would love to tell them where to go. What if you found a good will or consignment shop near your home. Did you know that you can find some cheap deals on clothes that are in decent to great condition, have character and guess what? Some even have labels from brand name stores. I did this. I grew up so poor that when I finally began to make a living, I shopped at good wills and consignment shops and found awesome clothes for a fraction of the price. Everybody told me I looked great or at least thought so. See if you can get a job helping out in a consignment store in exchange for pay or if you are too young to work, can you trade a few hours for a few garments each week or month. Honestly, you can get cool stuff 2nd hand cheaper than if you shopped at Walmart or Target. I shop at Target and Walmart and can’t believe how stupidly expensive it is. But I cut the labels out of my clothes and if I buy their shoes, I don’t take them off so people don’t see the target / walmart labels inside. Explain your situation to the owner or manager and see what you can work out. Get a little experience and maybe you open your own 2nd hand store for families like yours. Shop with coupons. Go online and get coupons to JC pennies, macys or whatever. After the discounts and coupons combined, I’ve bought popular brand names for so cheap. Never Ever pay whole price for any clothing.
Get a black belt in shopping by using coupons, stalking sales and snapping up deals in goodwill. Call and find out when the truck comes in and try hard to get there that day–without skipping school that is. Another great and cheap place is Marshalls and TJ Max. Very often cheaper than target and walmart and great brand names too. IF you have a Sears near you, clothes and shoes are good quality and cheap, really cheap! No body recognizes those labels. Tell smart asses who
ask that you picked them up from a little boutique out of town.
I grew up with the same teasing. But back in the day, walmart was known by another name. I’d tell you but I don’t want to date myself.
YOu are not a hoe and slut. But if you are having sex with guys to escape your anguish, or in hopes that he will save you, you are only putting yourself at risk for disease and pregnancy and setting yourself up for more abandonment. Girls that have sex outside of marriage are the girls who find themselves unwed with children and the cycle of poverty persists. Are there any other family members with which you could live with? Could you possibly come home and focus on homework? Or, stay at school and finish your homework? I make no excuse for a grandmother who scars her grandchildren with these types of names–but could the ugly cycle change if you did everything you could to embrace school so that in a few years you have the skills and tools to move out, take a job and go to night school to earn a college degree? I don’t know how old or young your sibs are but chances are they need you. And regardless of your ages, it sounds like they could use a good role model. Im suggesting the school idea because you are there anyway, have to keep going, but if you commit to finishing, you will be much stronger to accomplish a plan to get out of poverty. Can we impress upon you that education is the key to getting out of poverty. Can you develop or pursue a hobby that we can get you really really good at so that you can kick butt earning money after high-school. I’d suggest babysitting but i don’t think you’re psychologically ready if your cutting–not yet and maybe not at all but we can find you another interest or possibility.
We don’t live in poverty wwe just hate buying things I out grow in 2months. I don’t go around having sex with everyone, but I have had sex once. I drowned myself in studying to stay out of trouble.
