OK this is my big RANT post of the day or even the week. I call it WHATS THE POINT. (( dont read it if your sensitive ))
Ive been around for more than 4 decades and after all my days of living I find that there are certain things that just really suck about life in general.
One) Life is not fair. Some people are born into well off familys and have a loving careing family that provides a good childhood for them and able to supply them with all a child needs to be happy and to havea good education and proper nutrition etc. While others are born into abusive familys and have to go through lots of pain and suffering and some are born poor and have to live a shitty life with hardly no opportunities.
Its sucks that life is unfair like that.
TWO) it also sucks that you can work your ass off for years trying to buy a house and a car or just save for retirement… and then the economy can colapse and you can lose your Job, have your house foreclosed on, lose the buisness you tried to build and your retirement savings can wind up gone just trying to survive.
Three) You can spend years trying to exercise regulary and eat healthy and treat your body good. But then someday you can catch some disease like Ebola, or Swine Flu, Bird Flu, H1N1, Black Plague or one of the other many diseases out there that can kill you or leave you debilitated. SUCKS
Four) you can meet the love of your life….or so you think so.. and you get married and try to work it out to be together forever. Then one day they just run off with somebody else and your left with your heart broken and a nasty divorce settlement. So much for the brady bunch crap.
Five) You can spend years and lots of money on an education and then find out when you graduate that there are no jobs available and you wind up with a debt over your head that you cant pay off and wind up working some shitty minimm wage job stressed out over money each month. Pay check to paycheck life sucks. Especially when you have school loans hanging over your head and a diploma that does not help you get a good paying job.
SIX) whats the point in Voting. These politians say they will stop the wars going on and bring the troops home! and lower taxes for the middle class! and all kinds of other things that sound good. Then they get voted in there and do pretty much the exact opposite of what they said. Taxes go up. They send more troops into more areas of the world and break just about every other campaign promise they made. And they spend our tax money on stupid shit.
Seven) You can do your best to be a good person and raise your family right and then one night while your coming home from some positive family outing some drunk driver can cross the line and hit you head on and you wind up dead or paralized or you can get caught in the middle of a gang war and get shot or some punk can car jack you at a red light and you lose your life or wonded for the rest of your life.
there are other bad thnigs about life. I mean just reading the daily news is sometimes enough to make anybody sad or depressed. Murder, sex crimes, scandals, countries threatening nuclear war. Beheadings by religious extremists with a goal to destoy all that is good in the world. Political scandals. Tornados, earthquakes, tsunamis that leave many dead and hundredsof thousands homeless. The shit is endless. We even find out the celebrities we once looked up to are under all kinds of allegations like: rape, murder, tax evasion, drugs, sposal abuse, child molestation, drugs and the whole thing is sometimes just a mess. We even hear stories of shool teachers having sex with students or selling drugs or something.
WTF is the world coming too?
And dont even get me started on Chem trails, the NWO and Weathy corporations that suck the financial life out of societies.
Sometimes the only time I have any peace is when I am asleep
thats my rant for the week
once in a while you got to just rant and get it out.
——————————-
but aside from that there still are a lot of good people in the world and there are things in the world that you can enjoy and often there is lots t be thankful for. I just wish the stuff on my list of rants didnt exist.
I wish life was fair. I wish there wasnt so much evil in the world.
I wish life would be easier and happiness was easier to come by.
I wish you all well.

Don’t have much to add except that I completely agree with this and I wish for the same things you mentioned.
Well thanks for your comment, Now I know at least I am not alone in my frustrations. And Yeah I hope that things will start changing for the better for all of us.
You pretty much covered it all, the world really isn’t right, such evil, such misery, such inequality; how can some people live their cosy little life with all that suffering out there and be able to ignore it. I wish for change, but hasn’t there been a wish for change to create a better society for generations now, yet still we live with the things you describe.
Thanks for your repy Nias. Yeah I think I touched on most of the worst things in the world that are sad and depressing and not right….. without being too graphic. There are other things that bother me too. Like why is the entertainment that we have in the world today so filled with violence and vulgarity, crime etc. But Yeah I wish there would be more change for Good. but what is sad is there are a lot of people as you say who have cosy lives but dont want to do anything to help out those who dont have it so good. I think we are at a time where a lot of people are just selfish and not interested in trying to make things better for others. Some people have the resouce to help out others but dont care. Others want to help out others but dont have the resources. Life is just really weird sometimes
somethings just dont make sense.
I want to add something, rather than just a rant, I think your post is well considered, I can agree so much with it. You’re right about the entertainment industry, violence and crudity seems to sell, not sure of the impact of it, but it seems the way things are now.
What I’ve always wondered, what makes people selfish, actually to want to prey or to hurt others, how can they make that decision, how much is nuture or nature, I can’t get my head around it. I’m sure there are enough resources on the planet for all, it can be shared more equally, if only there was a way to remove the greed that can cause violence to others. I suppose it all comes down to ‘I don’t want to live in such a horrible world, I can’t bury my head, and it seems nothing is going to change it’, it’s sad. However, life does go on, there are caring people out there in a world that can show the extremes of good and bad.
I’d go on a tangential rant about point #2, but I’d rather not derail your thread. The world is indeed a stupid place to live, sometimes. I think Thoreau had the right idea (I mean the one in My Side of the Mountain, but also the original one, too).
I have read some stuff by Thoreau, and from you mentioning point number 2 I can guess that you agree with Thoreau’s ideas that you dont have to have all sorts of fancy stuff to be happy. I agree with that. But not all people can be happy living up in the woods in a shack they made with their hands and live off the land an be happy that way either. I think most people in the modern world need at least some kind of monetary income and a place of reasonable comfort to be happy. Not everybody is built to be the daniel boon type. but yeah were geting off subject
I believe happiness is achieveable for people of all types, but their are also sad things that go on in the world that are out of our individual control. I think real change only comes when large percentage of the population agrees to work on certain issues together and change things for the better.
I think what people need to be happy is a lot less about income and comfort and a lot more about adapting, and feeling like your actions actually accomplish something – that’s what the whole primitive experiment of Thoreau’s was really about. It’s definitely not for everybody, but I think anybody could be happy in any circumstances if they could only find the right balance.
Yeah, Maybe I should not have ranted. BUT the things I say are true….and its part of the reality that we live in. And more. Trust me I could have mentioned a lot of other things that are ruff about life but I tried to keep it to a minimum. Now if the things I say are true then why is it not ok to talk about it. Its like sometimes things need to be talked about. In order for change to happen
Usually I am all positive on this forum and optimistic. But sometimes I feel the truth that certain things arent right in the world and somebody needs to rant a little. But I am believing that things will get better for all of us. Little steps things will change
Agreed
But there’s a ton of “I think” and “I believe” this and that and “why don’t they do this or that”. I think the world is bad, I think the world is good. Yadda yadda – blah blah. There comes a time when ya gotta stop thinking and believing and start doing. (I”m actually giving this speech to myself!!) Next time I’m out…I’ll give a homeless guy a dollar…I’ll smile at a stranger…I’ll help someone…I’ll give up my place in line. That’s where it starts? I can’t solve the worlds problems, but I can do something today.
Radical. I’m hip to that groove, man.
Yup your right its in the doing. None of us individually can fix all the problems in the world but we can all do our part in making the world a better place buy being kind to others and helpful to others and polite and good lawbiding citizens. That is true!!
@falcon… good point. Next time I go out I am going to make a point of doing a good deed. Maybe it will become a habit instead of a now and then thing! And with luck some will get passed forward 🙂
I’m very sensitive and temperamental but took a risk and read this post because some of us like to live dangerously.
All the people who visit this site interpret it in their own way as they do everything else in this world. Some of them will agree with your post whilst others reject everything you have to say. The real question is why? Why the hell would you say this and what possessed us to comment?
It’s paradoxical to not care about life whilst valuing nothing more. That’s why suicide is hard. It also explains why most people are here. I actually agree with what you said above the world is a fucked up place. But you have to be a fucked up person to notice. It might be temporary or intermittent because eventually you might forget even writing this post, you might go on a cruise even and think life’s ok. Would that make these observations any more or less valid? I don’t know I suppose I’m trying to say it doesn’t matter. This is exactly why the world is what it is because we only care when it becomes apparent.
interesting post. truth hurts. all of these items have overwhelmed me at one time or another. for me, the one thing i can change in all the shit is ME. maybe by changing me, i can cause a little change in something else.
