1) Gattaca (1997) story about a genetically inferior man
2) Chung Hing sam lam (1994) life of two melancholic cops
3) Stand by me (1986) best coming of age movie, different and sweet
4) Barry lyndon (1975) you can find anything in this movie; suffer, pain, joy, all-life movie directed by kubrick. barry hold on everything to the end.
5) c.r.a.z.y (2005) best family drama, period
6) zero kelvin (1995) its the most poetic film i have ever seen. ”A powerful psychological and physical drama set against stunningly bleak arctic scenery”
7) this is england (2006) – this is england ’86 (2010) – this is england ’88 (2011) a long voyage to 80’era friendships, lost, love, happines and sadness.
8) noi albinoi (2003) life of a 18 year old boy, on fjord in the north of Iceland.
9) space odyssey (1968) you might get bored in this movie. but if you are already bored, like me, it will be your all time-best movie. when i do sport, i just open dave’s running scene on spaceship. i feel so identify to him. i hope you do so.
10) klass (2007) best estonian movie.

grushnitski, you’re a mind reader 🙂 Sometimes movies are the only thing that can cut through (or block out) the pain. Btw you have great taste in cinema!
Here’s one that comes to mind because it’s funny, sad, intense, silly and artistic. It’s one of Johnny Depp’s early films, directed by legendary Emir Kusturica, and it also stars Jerry Lewis and supermodel Paulina Porizkova. Can it get any cooler than that? “ARIZONA DREAM”
“Stand By Me” is a good one. We’re never too old to see a coming of age movie. There’s a Japanese one called “Kamikaze Girls” that’s pretty awesome.
man i like that movie. actually i minded add arizona dream too. i still listen soundtracks of arizona dream. johhny deep’s ”what’s eating gilbert grape” was great too. its pretty like arizona dream but without much quotes and metaphor
and yes, movies are angels 🙂
“and yes, movies are angels 🙂 ”
That reminds me, “Wings of Desire” (or anything by Wim Wenders)! It might be on the slow & boring side, but we like that, right?
I saw Gilbert Grape a long time ago and really liked it. Probably time to watch it again. Right now I’m looking for Zero Kelvin because it sounds perfect for my mood right now…
if you are using torrent i can send you link but i dont know its legit to give torrent link here.

Can’t wait to watch it. Thanks for the great suggestion 🙂
anytime sir. but its rarred. it might take your time. i really feel bad if you dont like the movie.
I bet I’ll like it because I really like the others I’ve seen (especially 2001 is one of my favorites). Even if I don’t like it, that’s ok because I’m also grabbing a few others you mentioned. Maybe tomorrow I’ll have a full day film festival haha
Awesome list, thanks. Gattaca was really good.
