I’ve gotten better. That doesn’t mean that life is hunky dorey, or that I don’t still think of suicide from time to time. But I do have good periods in which I’m happy.
I’m still alone. I’ve accepted that I will live my life out alone, which also means that I can live life totally my way. There are perks. Yet, still, there are times when I wished someone loved me besides my pets. Times when I want to be held, lay my head on someone else’s shoulder, just for a time.
But I’d rather be alone than living with someone else in a bad situation or even under mediocre circumstances.
Going through a down time right now. I just visited relatives in Illinois. I’m progressive. They are Tea Party. The vibes from the mindset make me want to run.
But I’ll get my happy back. For me, the greatest happiness comes from making someone else feel good or, at least hopeful.
I want to share a healing practice that I recieved via email today. I’m going to use it myself.
Let my body become a receptacle of light.
Let my mind be filled with light.
Let my heart radiate light.
Let my spirit dwell in realms of light.
Light illuminates the dark corners of our being. Light also allows us to recognize the shadows, in which are concealed our fears, our hatreds, our disappointments. But light encompasses all of these, as indeed, our being encompasses all of these. So if we can know ourselves as beings of light, we can illuminate our world, and so bring healing to ourselves, and others.
While saying the above prayer, feel first as if the whole body is inhaling light – through every pore, through every organ, through every cell – right down to the DNA molecules.
Next, feel as though light is coming through the eyes and traveling the optic nerves into the whole neurological network, flooding the brain, sparkling at the synapses, illuminating the senses.
Now feel the heart as a limitless ocean of light, in which we may dissolve our fears and self-critical ideas, and be absorbed into ecstatic beingness.
Finally, give the soul permission to know its true being as a ray of creation that contains the totality of creation. This is a paradox too vast for the mind to reconcile, so simply allow the possibility that you have experience a realization that is beyond the grasp of the intellect.
Tell yourself: “I have taken a step beyond fear, into healing.”
These kind of practices help me greatly.
You asked for sharing from someone who has gotten better.
Well, there it is.
