The judge in my told me today in a meeting that my rapist might stay free because it’s so hard to prove rape in a relationship! Are you serious?! Fuck you, you don’t realise how much of a downward spiral you’ve just sent me in. Fuck you.
As screwed up as everything is, it’s true. When rape happens in a relationship, a lot of the time the guy ends up free because it’s a case of ‘he said’ ‘she said’. The sad thing is that there are cases when a vindictive ex has claimed rape just to get the other in trouble, and it’s cases like that which make the true instances harder to prove. It’s beyond fucked up. I think your case depends on how soon after it happened you told people, went to the police, things like that, and of course how it happened. I hope the bastard gets what he deserves. He’s already had too much control over your life.
and for the little that it’s worth, I’m sorry.
First let me say I’m very sorry to hear that you’re involved with rape in any way shape or form.
Regarding your legal situation I’d like to quote a line from the film Vanilla Sky… “What’s the answer to 99 out of 100 questions? Money.”
Unfortunately that’s not so easy to come by however with enough of it you can buy justice. A great lawyer is worth every penny, especially when he or she is speaking on your behalf.
My abuser is free living the time of his life; I’m sorry, I understand. This world is unfair. Hopefully someday they will pay for the evil they’ve caused. If not, I hope we can heal and move on, helping others and being good to others who need help too.
wow! “itβs so hard to prove rape in a relationship!” it certianly is! very hard! if you can good luck! But what’s more important is don’t let it ruin your life! do what all you can and move on no matter the out come, don’t become bitter because some body srewed you over, let it go, becareful, and start over. you can’t ever start a new relationship if you don’t.
