Are you happy drunk? When I’m in a bad mood drinking usually worsens that. (The only thing that honestly helps is going for walks outside or sleeping.) Drinking doesn’t make me “happier” unless I’m already in a good mood.
Do a CWE on some OTC pain relief with added codeine, process it till its crystal clear and take a swig of that stuff with an RTD or other such beverage of your choice. Very warm feels from that mix; but I tend to stick to my limit and not overdo it. Not anymore.
I’m a very happy drunk even when depressed, although I tend to release my inner Plato and start blabbering nonsense till I pass out. But yeah, a good walk ’round the block usually helps settle more, or just drive off into the night and not stop until my ankle tells me to.
I drank enough to get “drunk” once in my life and I was happy while I was drunk but felt super super depressed after I had sobered up. I think that’s why people continue drinking so they can feel “happy” again. I’m not sure.

I hope things can turn around.
