I cringed when I read this because it reminded me of the times I asked for help but they never answered me.
I couldn’t post, couldn’t edit any posts, and often wasn’t even allowed to visit my dashboard.
But I was still allowed to comment.
I wrote 2 or 3 times to ask what happened, and they never answered.
Not even to say “Huh, good question. We don’t know.”
I ended up finding the answer on my own.
It was because the WiFi hotspot had installed filters which blocked out certain sites.
For some reason, SP was a site they restricted access to.
They’d also blocked Pandora Radio, eBay, Wunderground weather, Legacy dot com (obituaries), Yahoo search engine results, and Neopets.
When I go to other hotspots (like the one I’m at right now), I can post and access everything just fine.
It would have been nice to know the answer sooner.
Anyway, if your friend can’t access certain parts of the site, maybe that’s why.
But then, if they’re receiving an actual message saying the account is locked, I guess that’s something else entirely.
I really, really hope you (and she) can get an answer to this.
I hope they don’t ignore you the way they did me.
It makes no sense; as far as I can tell, they’re good hardworking admins who fix the site when problems occur, and they seem to answer others (like Hazy).
Just me, I guess.
I have never had my account locked. But I could see that it would be frustrating if it ever had been.
Tell her to try and clean out all the temp files and cookies from her web browser and then try to log in again. I have had issues with not being able to post > then I did that and it fixed it.
Too many times wrong PW logging in locks you out. So either you logged in with a fucked up PW too many times or someone tried to break into your account. Either would lock you out.
That happened to me a few months ago and I re-did my PW as soon as I gained access again.

If she did something against the rules admins lock your account. It’s in the rules.

Well.
Now I’m more depressed.
