Once again, I’m posting some music. But rather than just linking, I’m going to explain a bit for each video. The first video we have is “Raw Deal” by Twiztid. You’ve probably noticed I post a lot of Twiztid. Well, if you’re unfamiliar, they talk about being different, anxiety, depression, addiction… while they gained notoriety for being affiliated with ICP, they tend to touch on more serious topics. I feel more emotional connection to them I suppose. I chose “Raw Deal” as I feel it’s a good summary of them.
Next up, is “I Wanna Die” by Dark Lotus, which is essentially Twiztid and ICP with a few other label mates. I think the title alone speaks volumes as to why I’m posting this. Let’s cut deeper. Look into the verses and I think everyone here can find one portrayal they relate to. Maybe more than one.

So anyways for anyone who hasn’t really ever listened to Twiztid before, I’d suggest checking them out. If you’re on SP I can almost guarantee you’ll relate. I’d suggest checking out Freak Show or Mirror Mirror albums. Hope you enjoy.
I’m adding “The World” by Twiztid off the Mirror Mirror album. This resonates through me, someone has to feel this.

I wonder if there’s ever been a record company executive who told The Insane Clown Posse that they’re going to alienate people who have a fear of clowns. You know, “maybe tone it down, guys. You’ll scare the kids and we won’t move as many units.” I’ve always found clowns to be creepy, but I’m not technically afraid of them.
Actually, yeah. Back in the day Hollywood Records, a subsidiary of Disney signed them solely because they were gaining popularity. They released 1 album “The Great Milenko” which was pulled from the shelves like 4 hours after release. When Disney promptly burnt their contract.
Four hours??!!
Ha. That’s funny.
I guess in the world of Disney art shouldn’t be provocative, edgy, potentially offensive, different or interesting.
“Happily ever after” is their thing. Predictable. Formulaic. Safe. Family friendly.
And yet cartoon ducks without pants are still ok.
Disney owns many properties today whose productions are, in fact, sometimes considered “provocative, edgy, kinda different, and interesting.” Offensive on a wide scale, maybe not quite as much. Their version of The Walking Dead wouldn’t have featured graphic violence.
Anyway, sometimes it’s nice to watch something where “all’s well that ends well,” when you’re taking a break from the emotional abuse of Game of Thrones or whatever.
It was basically, hey we can make a fuck-ton of money here…. oh shit this is a lawsuit waiting to happen.
They’ve been on Jive, Island (Def Jam), Sony.. it’s almost comical.
Oh, hang on. Under ABC, a subsidiary of Disney, they’ve put out series like Jessica Jones and Daredevil (more Marvel related shows to come), that are definitely R-rated and feature graphic violence and sex, etc. Not for the kiddies.
