The feeling is surreal. I walk among the masses, pretending to be normal and healthy, while silently planning my suicide. Sometimes, I want to laugh aloud at the absurdity.
That’s how the world works. Everyone has their own little world no one else can see. Who knows, maybe some of the “masses” you walked among were thinking the same thing you were.
Yeah pretending to be just another person, pretending to be making plans for a future you don’t envisage being part of. It would be funny if it wasn’t so tragic.
Exactly what sadpotato said. The people you walk by, the neighbours, the cashier at your local grocery store, the friendly bank teller you always see, the bus driver…. all the people usually see have hidden thoughts too and many of those are bad ones. It is odd that in a world so full of people, we are each very much alone.
@SadPotato Statistically speaking, it would be surprising if none were entertaining such thoughts.
@nuclearbackpack Exactly! I lie my ass off when those who care about me inquire about my plans for the future. I pretend I’ll actually get my degree rather than end my own life.
@theWhispersOfMySins This is what I mean when I say we’re all alone. No one can truly see the world the way you do, which basically means that we all perceive different realities. Our worlds are connected but not identical. After all, how can we all be the main character?
I think we are each the main character of own lives. And often a pretty darn big one in the lives of others…as a parent, best friend, etc. We all might see reality a bit different but if we each took the time to show compassion, ask how others are while genuinely wanting to know, and showing honesty in our answers without fear of judgement.. then we would each have a more enjoyable journey. And lives would be saved. If only….sigh. Just my thoughts!
On another note…I hope you find happiness instead of a suicide. Hugs.
