I’m sick and tired of being sick.
Well, I’m always sick but today was more like I’m tired, so I ordered delivery, ate crappy food, then it made me feel even more crappy.
I was too fatigued to go out, so I ordered pizza. But eating stuff like that doesn’t make you better or healthier. I did get gluten free dairy free pizza with zucchini, artichoke hearts, and tomato, my version of eating not-so-junky junk food. Well anyway, I guess this vegetarian pizza didn’t agree with me, so I felt sick literally ALL day. Or rather, MORE sick than my usual every day chronically sick sick.
It’s a horrible negative loop- you’re too sick and depressed and tired to go out and do some real grocery shopping, so you don’t eat healthy, but then not eating healthy makes you feel more sick and tired, which leaves you no energy so you order delivery, and on and on this goes.
I know this is bad but it completely drains me when I have to go grocery shopping. Did it just a few days ago, was totally proud I finally got it done, and it totally wiped me out (I have health issues btw so doing simple things like grocery shopping isn’t so easy). It’s fucking annoying when you DO manage to finally do it and the damn food only lasts a few days. At least the healthy stuff. The fruits and produce and such. The only things that last are the unhealthy stuff in a box or with a label. Fresh healthy food just goes bad too damn quick. And I haven’t the energy to go out multiple times a week every single week. And not having a car makes grocery shopping all the more hard. The “fresh” food lasts only 3-4 days, then it starts going bad.
Am currently drinking my tea to ‘detox’ from the crappy vegetarian pizza. That’s literally all I ate today. Well, I hate some sour mangoes earlier in the day but it sucked (mangoes not in season, most fruits are sour/yuckky this time of year). So yeah, an entire pie of vegetarian pizza, sour mangoes, and herbal tea = my food intake today.

Do you usually eat gluten free food? If not maybe the reason you feel sick was your body reacting to the gluten free part of the meal… sometimes it can be a shock to the system at first when you stray from the norm. Like when people who normally eat really healthy and then try to eat something like mcdonalds and they are in agony.
yeah, i normally eat gf so it wasn’t a shock. i feel better today though, but that’s because i haven’t eaten anything yet and i’m afraid to eat. for the last 2 years, and especially 2016, everything i eat seems to make me sick. yes, i did get tested and seems i’m now allergic to everything, but then that leaves me with very little i can eat. which is basically raw fruits and vegs. and even then, sometimes raw vegs make me sick too. and it’s easy to say just eat healthy, but everything that is cooked has some kind of oil or sauce i can’t have (corn, olive, soy, sesame), basically everything. so it’s come to a point where i don’t know what to eat. everything i can eat i don’t like (well i like fruits but raw vegs…). and everything that is tasty (even if it’s “healthy” for most people) i can’t eat either. and no, cooking is out of the question for other reasons, sigh.
so eating is a real problem. and we have to do it like 3x a day every day, so can’t avoid it.
oh, and i should say the reason i’m now allergic to everything is because of doctors. they didn’t know how to treat my other health problems, so they all gave me shitloads of antibiotics, to kill bacteria i didn’t have, and apparently antibiotics blow a hole in your GI system, and causes a lot of people to develop lots of food allergies. thanks doctors. you come in with a few problems and by the time you leave, you come out with a dozen more. bloody hell.
FML 🙁
I have IBS and so for me foods are all over the place and I never know what food if anything will cause a flare up. I saw a GI that suggested FODMAP diet. Look it up, maybe it’s something you’d be interested in trying. I know I feel best when I don’t eat anything…. but obviously that is out of the question, so now I eat about a meal a day.
a reason you could get sick sometimes from raw vegs is because you’d be supposed to cook them
because even washing them and stuff isn’t always enough to proper clean them from everything “dirty” to eat raw, much less if it’s some regular veg that’s been bathed in pesticides and “decontaminants”,
even organic stuff can be “filthy” after a good rinse and wash, which can upset your system if its a bit delicate
only decent safe way would be to cook it, and not like proper cooking destroys the nutrients as bad as some might have you believe, but does help to get rid of some pesky remaining bacteria or other remnants
so if you cant really get to cook it, well, suppose you have to adopt a sushi and tartar diet :/
tried getting in touch with a good dietitian? i’m sure one of the better ones could be able to expand your world of food despite your doctors frankenstein experiments or your limited fire and frying options.
could always just tie stuff to a pole in a stormy weather and hope for a lightning strike, probably not the best way to make ratatouille, but who knows, might work.
