I live for days like these.
A sapphire blue sky marbled through with soft marshmallow streaks of cloud.
An ancient crossing surrounded by golden trees, lying on a peaceful stretch of shining river.
The sun in all its glorious expanse.
The beauty of life lying before me, stretching out as far as I can stretch my neck to see.
Today I walked and walked where I had never been before and
I watched the world unfurl before me like a painting
a masterpiece of enrapturing, irregular, symmetrical, lines and shapes and colours that I can scrutinise forever
and I wonder who on Earth can paint all these onto my retina
this is stunning. This is incredible. This is awe.

I was walking by myself with no one to distract me with conversation. Instead I got to pause for a long while and listen to the sweet chatter of two high-breasted birds.
I highly recommend walking somewhere new, alone, on a sunny day.

Love your post. So happy you shared it. Thank you!
I want to go on a walk too, but there is nothing special around here.
And even if there was, I wouldn’t have the motivation to go outside.
These are beautiful pictures though!
I hope you had a decent day. 🙂

Yes! Long walks got me through a lot of hard times. I need to get back into it. Just have to overcome the fear of bumping into someone and the anxiety that triggers.
Oh wow thank you for sharing this you are awesome
This is part of what keeps me going too. 🙂
wow thank you for this redandpurple … it’s beyond beautiful … your words, your photos … they feel like that crisp air, subtle warmth, freshness, of winter, so, so peaceful …
hope you’re doing ok.
Its very nice, but nature and beautiful sunsets aren’t in my reasons for staying.
As I said very nice pics sorry to be a killjoy 🙂
I’m right there with you Woody
The bridge over Old Durham Beck is crumbling slowly away.
I remember the bodies they found burried under the clay.
A sad man, a happy man, even a horse they say.
Ridden down by Cromwell’s men on a far off summer day.
Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown above toupee.
Uneasy are the dead and in the mud which they lay.
Uneasy is the country when the King is taken away.
You’ve been there… have you?
Nawp. 🙂 Just liked the picture of the bridge. (You’re velcomb.) Felt it needed a story. (Thank you.)
Well it’s an interesting story. For a second I thought people have really found various bodies underneath all that muddy land.
