I’ve been in a psych hospital now for 7 weeks, and 10 days ago I was still absolutely convinced that I would kill myself. I had not improved at all, and ECT, which is pretty much the treatment of last resort if nothing else has worked, had not helped at all. I had given up all hope and was just waiting for the Christmas period to pass before pulling the pin. Then my psychiatrist added Dexamphetamine to my meds, and from day one I was 100% better. All the depression symptoms gone instantly!!! I still felt fragile initially, and still need a bit more time to fully recover, after all I’ve pretty much been through a war, but my mood is consistently stable and good. Dexies have literally saved my life!
I just thought if this information helps even only one person it’s worth posting it. Dexamphetamine augmenting other antidepressant is not yet widely used to treat depression, so if you have severly treatment resistant depression as I have, it may be worth mentioning to your doctor.

Thank you for sharing this useful information and very glad that you are doing better!! Some people with severe depression need high doses of amphetamines to feel better—but unfortunately much of the medical world refuses to understand this.
I used that stuff for a few years, it worked at first but eventually it made me really crazy and I quit
Amphetamines have never let me down. Raised my blood pressure to lethal levels, yes. Made me crazy, no. Probably because I already act crazy.
